Jackson's First Dentist Appt

Today was a day I have been dreading-Jackson's first dentist appointment. Knowing how he acts getting his hair cut, I was a little scared of how he was going to act. The night before he kept saying it was "no fun" and "not a good idea." We finally talked him into thinking it wouldn't be that bad before we left. The office is just down the hall from my dad's office, so they all know my dad and kept talking to Jackson about his Papa. Our hygienist was the mom of a girl I went to high school with and she was really good with Jackson. She showed him everything while she was working on me. I was also a good girl at the dentist and didn't have any cavities! Then it was Jackson's turn and he got right up in the chair. He put the bib thing on (I didn't know if this was going to work since he won't put on the cape when he gets his hair cut) and put on some Spider Man sunglasses. We almost got xrays because he wanted to see the pictures of his teeth on the computer. When he tried to bite down on the thing they put in your mouth, it hurt (which I kind of agree) and he couldn't bite it long enough to get anything done. They said they will try again next year. He let her scrape his teeth and polish them. He also let the dentist count them and check them out. He got to hold the suction and was very good with using it. And best of all- no cavities!! I know his dad is happy about that because it saves some money. I was so impressed. I was very proud of him. The only time he whined even a little was when they wanted to raise the chair. We even got to go down the hall and show Papa all his loot from the dentist-Buzz Lightyear toothbrush, toothpaste, flossers, a little treasure chest for when he loses his teeth, and a sand-glass timer for brushing his teeth. After the appointment, Jackson had soccer practice and it actually wasn't windy! It was nice to be outside and Ellie had fun running around for an hour.
I just had to include this picture of Molly's parking job in our driveway. She had to finish a project at our house and Lissy had her drive from the entrance of our neighborhood to the house. She turns 16 in less than a month-watch out!
