We have had a couple warmer days here, but with the warmth usually comes the wind. We went outside yesterday so Jackson could ride his bike. I got Ellie and her Cozy Coupe down the driveway and had told Jackson to walk his bike down. I look up to see him starting to ride down the driveway and I knew it could get bad quick. As he picked up speed a look of fear flashed in his eyes. I was able to catch him at the bottom before he fell over but it about took both of us out. The wind was really hindering him, so he gave it up and we headed inside ready to try again the next day. Jackson also had an exciting day yesterday because he got to ride a big school bus for a school field trip. He was definitely more excited about the bus than the field trip and he really wants to be able to ride one to school.
Today Jackson had another soccer game. He had quite the cheering section and he was so excited to see everyone that many times when he ran by he would turn and smile at us instead of watching were the ball went. He did a good job and ran hard and of course he provided some entertainment. Ellie was trying to make some more friends. There was one boy who was probably around 10 and he was sitting in chair with a little "tot chair" beside him that was for his brother that was playing. Ellie was really intrigued by the little chair and finally decided she would sit in it. She would put her hand on the boy's leg trying to get into the chair. He didn't quite know what to think of her. He wasn't mean, he just didn't say or do anything. That is until I picked her up and he quickly folded up the chair. She was a little confused when she got back down and couldn't find her chair. So after the game, Andrew picked up some McDonalds while the kids and I went home and played a little. Neither of them wanted to go inside so we just ate outside. Jackson was throwing dirt clods in between eating his cheeseburger. Ellie dumped her whole box of chicken nuggets on the dirt and she just picked them up and put them back in the box. Dirt definitely makes things taste better. Andrew decided he would try out the new bike seat. Ellie didn't like the helmet until the bike started moving and then it was all better. She also wasn't done with her nuggets, so she ate them while she rode. As soon as Andrew started moving, she started giggling. She loves it. Once Jackson gets use to riding his bike more, we'll definitely have to take some family bike rides.
