Not much has been going on here. We have just been hanging out around home. Andrew had a hearing in Columbia yesterday so on a whim, I decided to join him. I did in a little shopping while he was in his hearing and then we went out to eat. We were back in Kirksville by 6:30. It was nice just to be able to spend a little time together though. Ellie had her 15 month appointment yesterday. She just cried a little when they gave her her shots-more like she was a little offended. But Papa had given her a peanut butter cracker to eat, so after she cried a few seconds, she went back to eating her cracker. She is weighing in at 23lbs (50th percentile) and is 32 1/4" long (95th percentile). So she is staying about the same on everything. Not to worry, her head is growing at the same rate and is still in the 95th percentile. Ellie is also developing quite a little personality too. She is still having fun emptying everything. But with that, she knows where stuff is. If she wants something to eat, I'll ask her to get a bowl and she goes to the right cabinet and picks one out (usually Jackson's Buzz Lightyear bowl). Also, if she wants to go somewhere, she'll go to the hall closet and bang on it because she knows her coat is in there. The other day, Mary was taking Jackson out to her house and after they left, Ellie was crying and she went to the hall closet, pleading with me to get her coat. She loves to run around and play with Jackson, even if he gets a little annoyed sometimes. He does look out for his little sister though. Yesterday at the appoinment, one of the nurses asked Ellie if she wanted to stand on the scales and Jackson put his arm around her and held her in case she was scared. It was so cute. Ellie also loves babies. Any time she sees one on the TV, she gets very excited and runs up to the TV and points at it. Ellie is starting to enjoy books a little more. She has a couple favorites but most of them you try to read to her and she just closes the book on you. But when she does have one she wants to read, she gets the book, then gets your attention and then heads over to the chair that we usually read in. She likes to direct you around. Ellie is also saying a few more words. She is still not saying Mama or mommy. She makes the sound sometimes, but she is not connecting it with me. A lot of things sound like daddy but her new words are apple and papa. Here is a little video of it.
Jackson has been handful lately. I'll blame it on the weather. We have been trying to really crack down on the whining and talking back and this past week, he has been getting better. He says the funniest things and I forget them before I can write them down. We are taking him and Ellie to the Depot Inn in LaPlata next week for just a night so he can see all the train stuff. I guess you can say it is our Spring break. I would love to go down to Dallas and visit Amanda, Todd, and Carson and enjoy the warm weather, but Andrew just doesn't have time. Someday it will be warm here. I think I'll start working on plans for the outside and pray that we get to start working on them soon.
