So to start- HAPPY BIRTHDAY ANDREW!! I don't know that he checks this blog that often, but just in case. He jokes that he sometimes has to look at it just to see what is going on in his family. Of course, he headed to work early in the morning, then came home for a pancake breakfast. We let him open his gifts then too. He got a humidor and some cigars-he was very happy. We also went out to eat at our new favorite restaurant, Napoli's. All of our family that lives in town were able to join. I think everyone enjoyed their food and Andrew got a slice of chocolate cheesecake for free since it was his birthday. Our waiter even rounded up a few people to sing happy birthday to him which he really didn't want to happen. Then we headed back to our house for some pumpkin pie, chocolate mint cake, coffee and hot chocolate. Andrew also got some tickets to see Jim Gaffigan from my parents. We were worried that he might not want to take a weekend off from work, but he was pretty excited about them.
Yesterday was supposed to be the AirFest. We have missed it the last couple of years and I knew Jackson would really like it. We got tickets to go this year and it happened to be raining all day. They said they would have it rain or shine, so we decided to brave the weather and head out. Jackson was very excited to be able to use his Cars umbrella and he would just stand out in the rain just to use it. We were able to find some shelter in the hangar for a little while, but we did end up pretty wet. They had a Air Force transport plane fly by but that was about it. The planes that were supposed to be doing the air show were in the hanger, so we got to see them close up which Jackson liked. They kept saying to stick around because they were waiting for it to clear up. We stayed for close to an hour and decided to give up. On the way home, Jackson said that was the best air show ever and he thanked us. He is such a sweet kid. Well this morning, we heard a loud plane flying by and so I checked KTVO's website and they had postponed the air show until today. So we loaded up again and headed out there. It was pretty windy and cool but I think Jackson enjoyed it.
