Happy Easter

We had a busy, fun week this past week. I was excited because we got to break out the power washer I got for Christmas. Andrew cleaned off the patio, front porch, and the garage. And we finally finished getting to stuff in place last night to get our garage a little more organized. Andrew put up a shelf and some cabinets for me and we got our tool chest from my parents' house that has been there since we got it for Christmas. Now I just need to finish putting everything in its right spot. We also had swim lessons, tumbling, Little-K and small group. The weather was nice so we tried to spend a lot of time outside. Ellie had put her Snow White dress on to watch Little Mermaid but I was getting ready to do work outside so she decided to join me. She rode her bike with the dress on and then she saw Gracie and Ty out so she got in the jeep and headed down to see them.

Ty cracks me up on this scooter. He rides it around everywhere and it is the perfect spped for him. Now he likes to ride it over to our house, get off, get on Jackson's old John Deere tractor we have sitting out for the trash, and yet again it is still not working. Then he gets back on is scooter and heads back down the street.

On Thursday, Andrew decided to head down to Lebanon to get some furniture. He had an open day because he had a trial set that got settled. He had seen a store online that had scratch-and-dent stuff and they had a desk he really liked. He came home with a desk, hutch, credenza, bookcase, coffe table, 3 chairs and a dresser for Jackson's room. He just rented a Uhaul when he got down there to bring it all back. He got an amazing deal and it all looks really nice. His office is really coming along and the furniture look great in there. I'll get some more pictures in the next couple weeks.
Heidi and her kids were in town for Easter so they came over on Friday to play. They got to play outside for a little bit but then we were under a severe thunderstorm watch/warning.

So we headed inside to play. You never know what outfit Ellie is going to come up with. Oh and her legs are looking pretty sad these days. They are all bruised up- a sure sign that we are playing outside more.

Later on Friday Jackson and Ellie decorated Easter eggs. I think I have tried a different kit each year and still nothing works like it is supposed to. This kit had some foil sheets that were supposed to speckle the eggs-didn't work. Oh well, at least they got some colors. Also I discovered a new way to blow out the eggs-using a nasal aspirator or as they are known in my family, "snot suckers."

Jackson and Ellie convinced my parents to let them have a sleep over Friday night. Lissy, Kaitlin and Zane were in town and I think they got to entertain them a little. Lissy wanted to take some pictures of the kids on Saturday. She thought Lincoln needed another one since he was sitting up so well now. He wasn't the most cooperative (maybe it was the wet, prickly grass or the dog that kept running right past him) but she did get some cute ones. She also got some random ones of Jackson and Ellie. They are on her blog if you want to see them. On the way back to our house Saturday night, Jackson was talking about how he was so excited for the Easter bunny to come and I reminded him that the Easter bunny was not what Easter was really about. He said, "I know Mom. It's not about the candy or the Easter bunny or the baskets. It is about Jesus dying on the cross for us. That is what Easter is really about." He made me so happy. But he was still concerned about his Easter basket and he and Ellie had to search for theirs. Ellie's was in the hall closet and Jackson's was in the dryer.
Lincoln was excited for his first Easter.

Then we all got ready and headed to church with my family.

After church we had our annual Easter egg hunt at my parents. Lissy found the golden egg this year. There was slight disappointment in our family that none of us got it. Jackson did pretty well though.

Everyone thinks it is funny when I don't find that much money. I think they feel like I'm too competitive. I may have ended up with the least amount of money this year, except for Ellie who ended up with $1. She liked the eggs with candy in them.

So now on to a new week. We had swim lessons again yesterday and Jackson actually swam by himself! He was so excited and so was I. He asked me to teach how to swim "real fast" when he learns to swim so he can swim on the swim team like I did. We took him out to eat to celebrate. And I can't believe he is going to be six on Friday. WOW! Now I need to work on stuff for his party.
