Christmas is Getting Closer

This week started out with Lincoln having his four month checkup-a little late. He had to get three shots, which he was not happy about at all. He weighed in at 12lb 4oz-10th percentile. His length was 25 1/2 inches, which was in the 75th percentile. He was in the 90th and he has been growing out of his clothes so I thought he would be a little longer. I also thought his head was getting bigger, but it is still in the 10th percentile. He has started to roll over all the way now and he has moved on to his activity center which he is enjoying as I type this. He is still a happy, smiley baby and we are all really enjoying him. Here is a little clip of Ellie cheering for him. I didn't get the best of it, but he thought she was so funny.

We started getting some snow here Tuesday and ended up with a snow day on Wednesday. It was a good thing Jackson was home because he and Ellie received some letters from Santa in the mail (Lincoln's came the next day). They came in shiny red envelopes and had a picture of Prancer along with the letter that had Santa's official seal on it. Each letter was written specifically to each of them. They were very excited about it.

Then later that day Jackson and Ellie helped me make chocolate-covered pretzels to go in our goodie baskets we plan on giving out later in the week.

Then on Thursday, the coldest day so far, our small group decided to ring bells for the Salvation Army. The girls were at JC Penney and the guys were at Walgreens. Our family rang bells at JC Penney years ago and we were in the doorway area, so that was what I prepared for. Well, we ended up outside this year. The lady that was there before us had been there for over 3 hours, so I couldn't complain because we were only there for one hour. I was paired up with Tisha and she was all bundled up she could barely zip up her coat.

Then on Friday Andrew and I got to go on a date! We had bid on a package at the Red Heart Gala for gift certificates to Pear Tree, the theater in Macon for their Christmas show, and a stay at the Comfort Inn in Macon. Well we enjoyed an awesome dinner at Pear Tree and the show was actually pretty entertaining. It was just a three-person play where they tried to do bits from a lot of the popular Christmas shows. It was pretty funny and they got the audience involved a little. We had a good time, but we decided to come home instead of staying the night in Macon even though a night on the town in Macon sounded very exciting.

Saturday and Sunday we spent some time out at the ranch. Andrew bought some cows and had to work those. Also, Annie and Lauren were in town on Saturday so the kids got to play together a little and then we all went out for dinner. After dinner, Jackson, Ellie and Lauren chased each other around the house for what seemed like hours. Ashlyn watched and tried to join in a little. Lincoln was just thoroughly entertained by all of it.

And one last story. Jackson has been trying to earn "money" at school to buy Christmas gifts. They have a store set up with little items and they all have price tags. The students can do certain activities to earn their money to buy their items. Jackson bought my present first and wrapped it at school. Next up was Lincoln's-a snowman bell ornament that says "Baby's 1st Christmas" (it is pink). And he still had to earn money for Andrew's and Ellie's. So the other night during his prayer he added, "And God, please help me to earn more money at school so I can buy the shaving cream for Dad and the snowman for Ellie." So sweet and I know Andrew will be so excited about his shaving cream.
