Jackson is a very special little boy. I am continuously entertained by him and he makes me smile. Some things he is very OCD about, especially his bedtime routine. Yet other times he is very random. A lot of times in the mornings (when he is supposed to be getting ready for school) he will be jumping around his room doing his kung fu moves and just yelling random things. Just yesterday he kept singing the Nationwide jingle, "Nationwide is on your side" while jumping around. And each time he sang it, he would put emphasis on different words. Sometimes he will just talk and talk and ask questions. Andrew sent me an email the other morning while he and Jackson were getting ready for hunting and he asked Andrew, "What is your favorite movie? Ghostbusters or Godfather?" Then he said, "'Underdog' is my favorite hero dog movie." Random. So back to the bedtime routine- whoever takes Jackson up to bed or Jackson has to pray that he won't have any bad dreams or nightmares. Sometimes he is very specific about how it is said like, "And tell God to fight them off three times with 200 swords." But when he prays it is really sweet. This one isn't as long as some of his others. One time he prayed for all of his family-mom, dad, brother, sister, grandparents, cousins, and aunts-he failed to mention his uncles. Then after the prayer you have to give him three hugs and three kisses. Then he'll tell you to make sure you come up and check on him early, not late (this didn't get on the video). And the he says, "Night, night. Sleep tight. Don't let the bedbugs bite." And you have to laugh a certain way. If any part is forgotten or skipped he will call you out on it. Oh how we love our sweet Jackson.
