Halloween Fun

We had a fun Halloween week (except for me being a little sick). Ellie got to spend Monday out at the ranch because Lauren was in town. Then the rest of us headed out there for dinner. Annie and Brad were back in town for the day so we all got to get together and hang out for a bit. Amanda and Carson got into town on Tuesday. We haven't seen Carson for three months and he sure has grown. We had them over for dinner Tuesday night. He gets so excited to see his cousins. Wednesday was Caroline's birthday and we got a yummy fried chicken dinner. She had lots of little helpers for her presents and her cake. The rest of the week was spent getting ready for the big Halloween party. On a side note, we had A LOT of rain on Thursday and things were starting to flood. Andrew came home for lunch and tried to head back to the office, but they had our street blocked off because it was flooded. He had to wait around 1 1/2 hours before he could leave. Jackson had his party at school on Friday and they also got to get dressed up and go to an assisted living center and a center for Alzheimer's patients. I drove some of the kids so Ellie got to come along too. They sang some songs and walked around for the residents to see their costumes.Lissy came over Friday morning just to drop off something I needed and she ended up staying and helping me get all my treats done for the party. I had four desserts I was working on and I thought I would be able to get it all done before I had to help with Jackson's class. But I was wrong. I would have never gotten it done without Lissy's help-so THANK YOU LIS! She brought Carson along with her and he and Ellie had a good time playing around.

We spent the day Saturday getting ready for the party and just enjoying the day together. My mom had some really cute decorations for the party. She is always so good at that stuff.
Jackson and Ellie had a great time with the jump house we borrowed from Andy and Autumn. Thanks you guys. It was a big hit at the party too.Then it was costume time. Then we were off for some trick-or-treating fun before the party. This one fell asleep on the job.Time for the party. Jared and Caroline went as Jackson and Ellie. They were pretty funny. We had quite a few babies at the party. We had lots of good food. I didn't get any pictures of my treats this year. It was just a little crazy. We had a lot of people stop by including this precious angel (Ashlyn) and her mom and dad.
Then we had some games for the kids. We had a ghost hunt that was suckers wrapped in tissue paper (we spray painted them with glow-in-the-dark paint, but I'm not sure how well it worked) that were hid throughout the yard, a witches hat ring toss, the jump houses, and a pinata that was a big hit.

What happened to Superman?This is a funny pic. Ellie and her friend Abby were hiding in the shower stall waiting for the boys to scare them. I guess Bella wanted in on the action too and so she tried to crawl under the doors and as she was doing this she was yelling, "Bella?"

And this was at the end of the night as we pulled into our garage at around 10:30.

The next day we had "brunch" (Pancake City to-go) at my parents and then we headed to Molly's confirmation. She is now officially an adult in the Catholic Church. And it was my parent's last confirmation. Their first one was probably 17-18 years ago (was Molly even born when Amanda was confirmed?). So now we are hoping for a laid back week. I have a lot of things on my to-do list I want to get done and it may even be decent enough to play outside a bit.
