Five Weeks

Well Lincoln is five weeks old now and a joy to all of us. He is growing and becoming more alert every day. He gives us a little smile every now and then and it sure is cute. Jackson is still having fun at school and it is still "awesome." And Ellie still loves being the big sister at home without Jackson around to get in her way and tell her what to do. They do enjoy their time together though. Here are a few pictures I took of the three of them today
We having been having some cooler weather around here-it feels a lot like fall. I'm not quite ready for fall, but at least it is not 100 degrees out. We have enjoyed playing outside with the neighborhood kids. We actually have some new neighbors right next door to us. He is the new cardiologist in town and they have a girl that is 2 1/2, a boy that just turned 1, and she is pregnant with their third, a boy due in November. The little girl seems very sweet, but kind of shy. I'm not sure she knows what to think of Ellie, especially when she is zooming around in her Jeep. This past weekend we went to the high school football game to watch Molly cheer. I really wanted to get a picture of the kids because they were all in their orange and black, but I never accomplished that. Andrew had a little get-together Friday night for the beginning of his friends Bachelor Weekend and he took Jackson along with him. You usually don't think of taking a five-year-old to a bachelor party, but Andrew really wanted to hang out with his "buddy" and the other guys didn't mind (at least I don't think so). But this whole night inspired some funny quotes from Jackson. First, on the way home from the game he told us that he could translate what Lincoln was saying. I didn't even know he knew what "translate" means, but he told us Lincoln was saying he wanted his milk. Then when Andrew told him that they sometimes play games at bachelor parties, Jackson was wondering if they could play "Duck, Duck, Goose."

The kids got to go out to the ranch on Saturday while Andrew participated in some of the other activities of the bachelor weekend, including a scavenger hunt on four-wheelers around the ranch. Then the kids and I settled in for a movie night when Lissy and Caroline showed up to hang out. They snuck up to the back doors and tried to scare the kids. Then they proceeded to get them all wound up, which they are good at doing. They invented a new game of wrestling with a pillow on top of your head. I had a pretty funny video of Jackson and Ellie doing it, but it somehow got erased, so pictures will just have to do
