The Beginning of the Summer

This was Jackson last week of preschool and it was a full one. His class went to Pizza Hut on Wednesday to use their Book-It coupons. They all walked there together from school and we met them there. Jackson thought it was great.
That night we had a BBQ at our house for the end of our small group bible study. We were supposed to have our swing set ready by then but they guys that were building it said it was more confusing than building a house and they only got part of it done. The kids still had a great time though playing with everything else and just running around being crazy. The only picture I got was of the dessert I made (which were very yummy).
I really wanted to get some more but it seemed kind of chaotic and the evening was over before I even thought about it again. Actually while we were cleaning up, Andrew came inside as the last people were leaving and asked me if I had seen Ellie. I had been inside and thought he knew where she was outside. After a little while, I see Tisha carrying her over from the LaBeth's house. Tisha said she had snuck in and made it up to their playroom. She is a very sneaky girl. We are really going to have to keep an eye on her this summer.

Thursday was Jackson's last day of school. It is hard to believe he is going to be in kindergarten all day next year. We made these flower pots for his teachers.
Then at the end of the day they had a "promotion ceremony." They had a balance beam set up and each kid got a flash light at the beginning of the balance beam to remind them to let their light shine for Jesus and then they got their diploma at the other end. After they all got their flash lights they sang "This Little Light of Mine." It was pretty cute.

To celebrate the last day of school, of course we went to La Fuente. Then when we got home the kids saw that the swing set was finished and they were so excited. They immediately ran out back and started playing. They loved it and got to play on it while I finished cleaning Lincoln's clothes. Yes I have started washing his clothes because I have a feeling he is going to sneak up on us with the wedding and vacation right before he is due.
And then why not end the last day of school/first day of summer with a little swim. The pool was pretty cold, but the hot tub was warm. The kids had a great time and swam for quite a while. I even let Ellie skip her nap. They went out again after dinner and swam some more.
