Bachelor/Bachelorette Weekend

This past weekend we headed to St. Louis for Zane & Kaitlin's Bachelor/Bachelorette parties. Zane was up first with a Cardinals game. Andrew was pretty excited because they were in a section that was all-you-can-eat. The game ended up getting rained out after only one inning, but I think all the guys had a good time and ate more than enough. I think Zane and his friend went out afterwards, but the "dads" came home. The girls (and Jackson) hung at at Sara's for a little bit and ate a delicious dinner prepared by Lissy and Caroline. Then we had plans to head to Monkey Joe's. This was our second attempt at going and Lissy and Autumn were the first to arrive and they informed us that it closed at 8 and we didn't get there until 7:45. Jackson ran around like crazy trying things out and they even let us stay a little longer. He had a great time in the short amount of time we were there. I think Ellie enjoyed it too. Briley was the funniest. She made it up to the top of the big slide all by herself and came down so fast she flipped over. She loved it though and went down a couple more times.

The next day was the girls turn. Andrew ended up taking the kids back to Kirksville and let me have a girls' day/night which was really nice. All the girls then headed to a winery in St. Genevieve. It was a little bit of a drive, but it was beautiful when we got there. We brought some food along and everyone but me enjoyed some wine. It was a nice afternoon and everyone had a good time.

We got back around dinner time and we ordered some pizza while everyone rested and freshened up for the next stage of the party. I was pretty tired at this point (I never sleep well in hotel rooms with the family) but off we went. Our initial plans were to go to the Chocolate Bar, but there was quite a wait and so we ended up at a different place but the night didn't last too long and we were home by 10:30. I rode home with my parents the next day and was glad to get home and see everyone. Andrew and the kids had a good time. He took them to La Pachanga for dinner and they also picked up Andrew's weight set and punching bag that have been in storage since we moved. Jackson was very excited to show me his boxing moves.

Today we decided to let the butterflies go. It took a little while, but they eventually all flew out.
