A Sunny Day

Yesterday was a beautiful day and the kids and I really enjoyed spending some time outside. Unfortunately, Andrew was in depositions all day in Memphis so he didn't get to enjoy it much. Jackson tried out his new rocket launcher and tried to get some extra height out of it by jumping off of our storage box.

He also pretended to be a pirate and explored the brush behind our house.

Ellie loved picking the dandelions and even ended up with a yellow nose from smelling them. Good thing she doesn't have allergies.

She also tried to play in the sandbox, but her daddy hasn't bought any sand yet and unfortunately for her, the bags of sand are too heavy for me to haul around right now.

I have enjoyed watching our bulbs bloom. Some of our plants that we put in last year didn't make it, but for the most part it looks most of them are starting to grow again.

In the afternoon we had to head to Jackson's dentist appointment. He is still excited about going to the dentist and did very well again. He didn't go for the x-rays though. They have tried before and it hurt his mouth (they always hurt my mouth too!) and they said he wouldn't actually need them until he was 5. But he remembers that it hurt, so he made a deal to try to it next time.

After the appointment we had to pick up Ellie at my parents and then head home to get ready for our bible study. Andrew and I joined a small group at our church and have hosted it at our house the past several weeks. Several of the couples have kids close to Jackson and Ellie's age, so they come over and we get a sitter (Kaitlin had the privelege of doing it a couple weeks) and they all hang out in the basement. After working out the kinks, the kids have really enjoyed it and look forward to it. Andrew and I have enjoyed our part too.
After bible study, it was time to get the kids ready for bed and I had a surprise for Ellie. Since she has done so well staying in her bed we bought her some princess pillowcases. She was sooo excited and laid right down. Then after the kids were down, Heidi came over and we enjoyed a couple hours of hot chocolate and conversation. It was really nice because neither of us get that very often.
