HAPPY EASTER!!

We had what I thought was a pretty relaxing Easter. The kids actually slept in. This year they had to hunt for their Easter baskets, which they thought was fun. They also got a present together, a butterfly kit. We sent our coupon off today to get our caterpillars and then we get to watch them turn into butterflies. It came with a little “cage” that we can keep the butterflies in for a little bit and then we will release them. After the kids found their baskets, I made pancakes for breakfast and then we got ready for church. We went to church with Andrew’s family and then we headed over to my parents to see my siblings before they headed out of town. The rest of the day we just lounged around (except for Andrew who had to prep for a trial today) and cleaned up all the Easter stuff. It was nice to slow down a little after our busy week. It was neat this year to talk about the real Easter with Jackson. They talked about all of it a lot at school and then we got to talk about it more at home. He is starting to understand it more and realizes that Easter is about more than the Easter bunny- it was when Jesus rose from the dead! One entertaining moment happened over at my parents. Some people had wine with dinner one night and Lissy had her glass setting on one of the end tables. Jackson is notorious for drinking anyone’s drink and I think he thought the cup of win looked like tea and he took a big drink. I didn’t notice until he ran into the kitchen, took a bar stool over to the sink and spit it out. Lissy asked him if it tasted gross and he said, “ It tasted like Jesus’ blood.”
