Happy New Year

I am typing this post on New Year's Eve-may sound pretty pathetic but I don't mind it. It seems like you can spend so much time trying to find the ultimate New Year's Eve party but the best ones I have had have just been spending time with family. We did start out the night on a fun note by eating at The Pear Tree. Ellie loved all of the food. She had three onion rings plus bites of all of mine, a lot of croutons, some of a roll, some of my chicken, and some chocolate from Caroline's dessert. She also loved Molly's Shirley Temple. The last half of the night has just been spent sitting around watching TV. Andrew is already in bed. I can remember very few New Year's Eves that he has actually stayed up. Ellie is in bed too. To no surprise, Jackson is very much awake and torturing everyone with the plane gun he got from his cousin Will at the Early Family Christmas. On the ride home from Pear Tree, Andrew and I spent a little time reflecting on the year and boy have we been blessed. We have so many wonderful and funny memories from the past year and so much for which we should be thankful. Happy New Year everyone.

This past weekend brought some time with my Dad's side of the family. On Friday they had a surprise birthday party for my Aunt Sue and Uncle Richard. Then we had a Christmas party on Saturday. Jackson loved getting to hang out with his second cousins and had a lot of fun. Will was very nice to get all of them gifts- Ellie got a Scuttlebug which is a small riding toy and Jackson got a plane that shoots off a gun.
