Parade & Pumpkin Patch

This week went by pretty quickly. The weather has been just amazing that it is hard to stay inside and get things done. Monday night Andrew and I got to go with a group from our church to a dinner in Quincy. It was a fundraising dinner which ended up being really nice, just a little longer than we thought it was going to be. We didn't get home until closer to 11 and had to drag the kids out of bed at my parents. Jackson didn't even remember it the next morning. Then Jackson had his last soccer practice on Tuesday. On Friday we took dinner out to Matthew and Kristin and Annie and Brad happened to be in town too, so we made a family event. The kids had a fun time running around with their cousins.And we got to spend some more time with Luke. Ellie was very excited to hold him. Saturday morning, Andrew headed out to the ranch and the kids and I made our way to the Truman Homecoming Parade. We walked in it for K-Life and the kids passed out a little bit of candy. They wanted to make sure they had some leftover for themselves though.Lincoln just hung out in the stroller. He did pretty well considering he had to sit in the stroller an hour before we even got going. We parked across from the old Grim-Smith and walked the whole parade route from ending to beginning to meet up with our group on past the north side of the square just so that we could go straight to our car at the end of the parade.
After the parade we headed home and waited for Andrew to get back so we could go to Columbia. We just had a few things to pick up and the kids got to pick out a special toy since they had enough beads in their "Good Job Jars". They were very excited. And we emptied out the jars when we got home to start all over again.

We headed out to the pumpkin patch after church on Sunday. I tried to get these two to put their arms around each other for a picture and this is what I got-nice. They did have a great time though.Lincoln wanted to do the corn maze by himself (with snacks of course) and I picked him up once to catch up with the others and he got mad.The kids had a great time jumping in the jump house and in the hay pile and going through the maze. It was beautiful weather which made it even better.
Then after the pumpkin patch we headed home and Lincoln went down for a nap. Andrew, Jackson and I threw the football around a little to get Andrew warmed up for his flag football game and then he was off. The kids played outside for a while and then it was inside to get dinner ready because my parents, Caroline and Molly were coming over. While I was getting dinner ready, Jackson and Ellie watched the new Karate Kid and he watched parts again tonight before bed. It is just like he was with Kung Fu Panda but a little more serious. He told me he would get ready quickly tomorrow morning and would be practicing his moves in the wrestle room until I asked him to come downstairs to go to school.
