Red Barn, etc

This past week, Jackson's class was talking about different healthcare professions, so my dad stopped by the class to talk about being a doctor. As you can see below, Ellie got to sit at one of the tables like the big kids-she was so excited. She even joined some of the other kids at the front of the room to have my dad listen to their heart and when the teacher told them to go back to their seats if my dad had already listened to them, Ellie immediately headed back to her seat.

Our schedule started picking back up this week. Our small group started meeting again on Thursday nights, Jackson has soccer practice Friday nights, and then has a game on Saturday mornings. His first game was this Saturday and even though they don't keep score, it was very obvious to Jackson that his team would have lost. But he did get out there and play and never complained.

And Ellie decided she was tired of me taking pictures of Jackson and wanted in on the action.

After the game, we headed to Red Barn to check out Lissy's booth. I only made a quick trip around the square, but I would say it was the cutest one out there. Here and my parents worked really hard on getting it all together and Autumn helped them set it up. She sold some of her tutus and my mom sold some really cute witches hats she made. Her is Janet modeling one with Lincoln. She actually wore it while she walked around and would tell everyone where to get them.

We sent Ellie and Briley out to walk around too. Molly and Heather would nice enough to take them and Heather even got in on the fun by wearing her own tutu that Autumn made for her. Ellie and Briley were wearing signs that said "Follow Me to Miss Prissiness." This was actually my dad's idea and it was very cute.

The kids really enjoyed hanging out up there and Andrew even came for a few hours. I don't think he has ever been to Red Barn in his 33 years in Kirksville. My dad was the nice guy and bought the kids some marionette puppets that they really liked.

Like I said before, Lissy's booth was really cute. She had some of her pictures hanging up (and sadly, they started falling down about half-way through it), a portfolio book of some of her pictures, examples of her cards, her name boards and letter plaques, and note cards. She actually booked 5 photo shoots and had tons of interest. She ran out of her brochures and business cards and started just writing her information on notecards. I would say it was a successful day.

I think they all were exhausted by the end of the day. They started setting up around 6:15am and took everything down at 4:30. This was after working on everything until 12:30 the night before.

We ended the night with Ellie posing for Lissy. This is her blowing a kiss and doing the defensive stance.
