A Fun-Filled Weekend

We started off this weekend putting up our Halloween decorations. Jackson was very excited to get it all up. They got to help by putting up vinyl window stickers (and handprints). Then that afternoon we headed out to the Homecoming Parade. Jackson came ready with his bag for candy. I forgot it was an election year, so there was a lot of candy to go around. When Ellie got her first piece, she turned around with the huge smile. After that, she wanted her own bag and they ended up making a good haul. Molly was pretty excited about this since they were headed to my parent's house afterwards. When we got there, she led them into the family room to sort it all out on the couch. My parent's kept the kids for the night! They wanted to have a little sleep over with them, which of course the kids were happy about. They took them to the football game and I think the kids had a good time. Andrew and I went out to eat and then just rented some movies to watch at home. There wasn't really anything we wanted to see at the theater and we don't really get to watch movies at home that often and just relax, so it was nice.

Saturday started with another soccer game for Jackson. It wasn't Jackson's greatest game but I think he had a long night the night before. Heidi and Jeff were in town, so they came by with Brooke and Tyler. They were all decked out in their Mizzou gear and Heidi and Jeff were heading to the game. Jeff helped design some shirts that they have been trying to sell at home games. They have a design on them that looks like a Jack Daniel's label, but it has "Chase Daniel" with his number on it and something about the Heisman. If anyone wants one, just let me know-they are $15.

After the game and lunch, we then headed out to a new pumpkin patch. I was pretty excited to see that someone was having one close to us. Everyone always has such cute pictures from them. I planned on putting them in their Halloween clothes, but it was too nice for long-sleeved shirts. He would have thought we would be wearing shorts in mid-October. The place wasn't exactly a pumpkin patch, though they did have a few pumpkins and mums for sale. They had some fun things for the kids to do- a jump house, a little hay bale maze, a corn cannon, and a big pile of straw to play on. After they played around there, we took on the corn maze. It was the shape of a train. After a few dead ends, we made our way through. I think Jackson took most of the credit. After one more round in the jump house we headed home. Jackson told me it was a very good idea to go there.

Now it is time to start getting ready for Gulf Shores-we leave on Thursday!
