So I started this blog and had it about halfway done when my
computer shut down and it wasn’t saved. So this is the very short, condensed
version. This week…
I started out the week sick-nauseous, dizzy, light-headed. I
didn’t work out for a couple days and finally got back into it halfway through
the week. But then felt dizzy again at the end of the week.
We got to spend time with some of our cousins this week.
Kristin brought her kids and Lauren in to swim on Monday. Then Autumn and her
kids were in town for a couple days and we got to hang out with them for a bit.
The kids even got a sleepover in one night after ballgames.
We had five ballgames this week. Two Monday, and then one
each Tuesday-Thursday. Ellie had her last regular season game on Monday and she
hopes that her team is still playing in the tournament when we get back from
vacation. She had a fun season and enjoys learning more about the game. Lincoln
had a game on Tuesday and the it was the last game for the other team so they
went ahead and handed out medals to both teams even though Lincoln’s team had
another game on Thursday. And their age group doesn’t do tournaments. Lincoln showed a lot of improvement from the
beginning of the season. He is funny to watch because he is pretty unassuming
but then he gets this intense face, gives himself a pep talk and pounds the bat
on home plate a couple times before he hits.
Jackson had his last regular season game on Wednesday and
they went out with a bang winning 4-12. Jackson has also loved playing this season
and hopes they are still playing in the tournament when we get back from
vacation.
Ellie had her last day of SOAR on Wednesday. They had an
open house where we could view some of her projects she had been working on so
the rest of the kids and I headed over to the school. When we got there,
Lincoln informed me he didn’t have any shoes and it was too late to go back
home. So I left him in the car with Jackson and we moved as quickly as we could
looking through Ellie’s stuff. She made several Google presentations and she wanted
to read them all to me. Then, a lady I have known for many years from Mary
Immaculate accidentally backed into Ellie as she was trying to take a picture
of her grandson and she proceeded to talk excitedly to Ellie about how she knew
her family. She even took a picture of us and had me send it to myself from her
phone J.
I spent a lot of the week getting ready for vacation and
packing in various stages. I thought I would be pretty efficient with all that
we needed but it quickly grew to a large amount-I guess seven people just require
a decent amount of stuff. Thankfully we don’t need pack-n-plays, diapers,
swimmers, etc. anymore.
With 4th of July almost here, of course we had to
shoot off some fireworks. The LaBeth’s joined in with us as we just did a few
small ones one night (before it was legal-rebels).
We got some fun mail from Kids Across America with a
baseball signed by the girl we helped send to kamp and a cute thank you note
from her.
My cousin, Jimmy, and his family came into town on Friday so
the kids swam and we ordered pizza before heading over to our house to watch
the LaBeth’s big fireworks display. Lissy was doing a mini shoot in our
backyard and was just finishing up when we got there so she joined us too. They
put on quite a show. We all decided the Hot Tamale was our favorite. Some of
the kids played Ghost in the Graveyard while the fireworks were going off with
some headlamps Tiffany had for all of them. The weather was even a little cool
and it was a great evening.
