Four Months

Starting from where I left off with the last post, Jackson had his first grade music program last Thursday.  It was a farm theme and they all did such a good job.  The kids with the speaking parts were amazing-they didn't forget any of it.  Jackson was part of few duets they had during their last song, "Country Road" by John Denver.  It was so sweet to see him sing.  He didn't want to talk much about it beforehand though.

The next day Miles and Bennett  had their 4 month appointments and we decided to throw Ellie in there too for her kindergarten vaccinations.  Miles weighed in at 13lbs 1oz and was 25.5" long while Bennett was 13lbs 4oz and 25.75" long.  So they are both around the 25th percentile for weight and 75th percentile for length which is great for being born over a month early.  Ellie got her shots first and she was promised McDonalds if she was a big girl.  She was awesome.  She sat on my dad's lap for the first set on her arms and then she stood up and hugged him for the set on her hips.  She didn't shed one tear and even giggled a bit.  I was pretty impressed because I was ready for a little meltdown because she hasn't always been the best with pain.  Miles and Bennett cried a little but quickly settled down.  So twelve shots later we were out of there. 

Saturday night we had some guests.  My parents were leaving early Sunday morning to go to the Cardinal's game and they were taking Jackson as his birthday present.  They also decided to take Carson since he had never been before.  Amanda wasn't feeling good at all, so we decided it would just be best of Colton and Carolina came and stayed with us Saturday night and we kept them all day Sunday.  They did great and went to bed well.  We took them to church on Sunday and aside from a few tears, they survived.

Jackson had a great time at the game.  They won and I think they had a couple homers, which always makes for a fun game. 

The next week was business as usual.  I enrolled Ellie for kindergarten for next year-wow.  I can't believe it is time for her to start kindergarten.  She is excited though.  Then I had to get some office work done.  If the twins are awake while I am doing it, I sometimes sit on the floor with my laptop so they can see me as I work.  And sometimes they decide they want to be held.  I had never used my webcam before, but decided to try it out with the boys.:-)

I pulled out some painting stuff one rainy day to try to entertain Ellie and Lincoln.  It lasted for a little while.

We also found out this past week what baseball teams the kids were on.  They also recommended this year that all the kids have their own helmets to help reduce the lice issue they had last year.  I got bat bags for Jackson and Ellie and I was labeling everything and getting it all put together.  Lincoln loved trying on the batting helment and I was asking the kids to get their gloves so I could put them in the bags also, so Lincoln ran to the drawer we keep the winter gloves in and got some out and thought he was ready to go.

Jackson started practice on Thursday.  They both will have practice on Thursday and Saturdays until the season starts later in May.  Some of my family started coming into town on Friday because we were all celebrating Briley's 5th birthday on Saturday.  Saturday was a pretty busy day for us.  It started with Jackson's ball practice at 10, Ellie's dance pictures at 10:30 and then we had to be at the Primary school at 11:30 to get ready for Jackson's first game in the K-Life 3on3 tournament.  He played four games over the rest of the afternoon and they ended up getting third out of four teams.  They definitely improved over last year and it is fun to watch them play and gain their confidence. 

After the tournament, we headed over to my parents for a bit and then I took Ellie to her baseball practice at 4.  We got back just in time for Briley's Penguin birthday party.  Briley was so cute.  She told her mom that she wanted a penguin party and she wanted to dress up like a penguin for it.  Her parents were nice enough to oblige and they gave her a cute penguin party.

We ended the week by going to a baby dedication class at church to prepare for Miles and Bennett's baby dedication on Mother's Day.  Our church usually only does one big dedication a year and we have missed it the past few years and we never did a dedication with Lincoln.  So he gets to join in on this one too.  After the class, we attended the late service and then headed home.  So now it is time to get ready for another week and it is hard to believe that the kids will be out of school in just a little over a month.
