A New Niece!

I wanted to start out my post by congratulating Annie, Brad and Lauren on the birth of Savannah Joy.  She was born last Saturday, April 28 and is just adorable.  We can't wait to meet her. 

Earlier in the week, we had a little victory.  Lincoln had a hair appointment last Monday morning and hair appointments are not his favorite.  I took the kids to school that morning and thought I could get in a quick Wal-Mart trip and then get the twins down for a short nap before his 10am appointment.  I usually hold Lincoln on my lap while he is getting his hair cut because he sometimes fights the hair cut.  I just sat the babies in their car seats by us and we got started.  But then Miles started getting upset (I don't think his nap was long enough-they usually get at least another hour for their morning nap).  Lincoln actually let me put him on a stool in the chair and let Kim cut his hair without me holding him, so I could take care of Miles.  It was quite an accomplishment for us :-).  Then I got to take all of them back a couple days later for Jackson's hair appointment. 

Amanda and her kids were still in town, so we had them over for dinner. Or at least my parents, Lissy, Molly and Amanda's kids.  Amanda wasn't feeling that great, so she stayed home. The kids had fun playing out back after dinner.

Then Lissy brought Carson over to play in the sprinkler the next day.

It was like a summer day outside.  Lincoln and I went out earlier in the day.  He is getting pretty good at riding his bike and he also likes to paint it (with water of course).

Wednesday night we had our last small group before we break for summer.  It will be nice to get a little break, but I'll miss getting together with everyone every week.  We have a great group of people in our group.  We are going to try to get together a few times over the summer though. 

Lissy took Carson and Ellie out to 1000 Hills on Thursday and they had a great time.  Then that evening Lissy took some pictures of the kids.  Leah and Zach showed up to help out and as much as we tried, it was hard to get the babies attention while also getting the other three to continuously smile.  But it was no surprise that Lissy did get some cute ones.  I love them.  Here are just a couple.

Andrew had to go out of town Thursday night and got back Friday night-so much much better than all his trips out to California when I was at the end of my pregnancy with the twins.  And then, thankfully, out schedule hasn't been as busy as I thougth it was going to be. Several of Jackson and Ellie's ball practices have been cancelled because of the rain.  So we are done with small group and dance will be done in a couple weeks just as baseball season will start to get busy. 

Andrew got back Friday just after we got back from visitation for the dad of some family friends.  It is always so sad to see a family go through that.  Andy and Autumn came back for the visitation too, so we got to see them for a little bit. 

Andrew took the older kids out to the ranch on Saturday and that is when we got the news that Savannah was born.  Then on Sunday, we ended up going to the early service for church and when we got home, I thought it would be a good time to run a few errands before Andrew had an appointment at the office. Then I end up getting a text from Andrew twice saying Ellie's stomach was hurting and she as crying.  By the time I made it home, she had vomited.  She spent most of the rest of the day sleeping but then she seemed totally okay and never felt sick again.  And thankfully none of the rest of us got sick.

The next week flew by.  Hoping we could help them out a little, we had my family over for dinner again and this time Amanda got to join us.  Thankfully she is starting to feel a little better but still pretty sick.  I also got to go out to dinner to AJ's with some friends one night which was great.  Thursday night was supposed to be a busy night with two ball practices and Ellie's Kindergarten Roundup, but the rain cancelled the practices, so it was just the kindergarten roundup.  My parents watched the other kids for us while we took Ellie.  She got to look around the school, meet some teachers and do a screening.  Now Ellie and Lincoln are on the road with my parents heading down to Bentonville for the big birthday party for Bella, Brady, Colton, and Carolina.  It was very nice for them to take them and the kids were very excited.  Andrew and Jackson are going to try to get some turkey hunting in this weekend as it is the last weekend and they have hardly gone at all. 

And lastly have some pics of the twins.  If I set them up so they can see each other, sometimes they start smiling at each other.  They also sometimes do it when they are laying down and happen to notice the other one laying beside them.  It has been impossible to get a picture or video of it because they always look at the camera whenever I bring it out.  It is so cute though.  They also get excited and giggle sometimes.  So much fun.  First I have some pictures of them and the blankets Sara and Ryan gave them.  And of course Ellie had to get in some of them.

Then I was just trying to get one of them smiling together.  I love their funny faces.
