Loving This Weather

So we started out last week with Parent Watch Night at Ellie's dance class.  We took the whole family and my mom and Molly showed up too.  If this lesson was any indication of what the recital will be like, it should be entertaining.  One of their dances, they use balloons as props I have a feeling the balloons will be all over the stage.

Tuesday I made a couple meals for a family in our church that recently had their own twins.  They had twin girls and they think they may be identical too!  They were so sweet and tiny.  They were swinging in their little swing together.  It is so true that they grow so quickly.  Miles and Bennett look so big compared to them. Also on Tuesday, I finally had a successful Wal-Mart trip.  Lincoln did not wear his cowboy hat or flip flops, so that was a good start.  He rode on the front of the cart for awhile which helped.  Ellie got to make her own trip to Wal-Mart on Thursday.  Granny picked her up at school and took her for lunch and to pick out some stuff for Easter.  One of the things she came home with was printable hair extensions.  You can design them online and then you run the extensions through your printer.  She is designing right now, so we'll see how this goes.

On Friday I brought out some masksthat Ellie and Lincoln could color that I picked up at the dollar spot at Target.  They were very proud of their creations.  Then they decided to do some dress up.  Lincoln wanted to be Superman and thought Ellie's Supergirl outfit was close enough.  At one point he was also walking around with a pink purse (it had his wrench in it) and some pink high heels.  He even kept the outfit on during his nap. 

That night Andrew and I got to go out to eat at AJ's with some couples from our small group.  CCF was providing a Parents' Night Out at our church and we left all the kids there, even the twins.  They were very excited to be able to watch the twins.  They all did great and we had a wonderful night out. We didn't get home until close to 9, but Andrew quickly got things together and took Jackson and Ellie out to his parents for a sleep over.  He and Jackson were going youth turkey hunting Saturday morning so he thought it would be good to just sleep out there.  They just wore their pjs out there and Jackson put on his slippers and apparently forgot to pack other shoes.  He ended up wearing several pairs of socks along with a pair of Mary's shoes. 

Heidi and her kids were in town this weekend and came over to play on Saturday.  It took a little while for them all to warm up to each other but then they had a fun time.  Heidi and her family leave for Italy at the end of this week so I'm a little jealous :-).  Saturday night was not the most fun around our house.  Jackson and Ellie have been having trouble with being disrespectful and rude, so they spent most of the evening doing chores in and out of the house.  They were very nice and agreeable by the end of the night :-).  Andrew and Jackson went hunting again Sunday morning and he assumed they would be back in time for church, but I got a text saying they weren't going to make it in time because they were stalking a turkey.  So I loaded up the other four kids and we headed to church.  The twins did great for me.  It was a little difficult to feed them both in church but we got it done and they weren't too noisy.  Andrew made it right at the end to work one of the booths after church.  He said Jackson did a good job hunting.  They walked and belly crawled quite a bit and he stayed up with Andrew.  He did shoot at a turkey and I think clipped it but didn't kill it.  They still have the officical turkey season that starts in a couple of weeks.  After church I was off to take Ellie to a birthday party and we spent the rest of the day enjoying the beautiful weather.  Andrew picked up a lot of black dirt and grass seed and spent the rest of the day filling in bare spots in our yard.  He even finished up in the dark.  He had the kids help him spread the seed.

The kids had a lot of fun playing outside.  The LaBeths were the cool parents and even brought out their water slide.  The kids had a great time playing on it, having a dance party and playing hide-and-seek.

Miles and Bennett got to spend some time outside too.  I laid a few blankets down on our patio in the shade and they loved it.

They really love talking these days.
