So Busy I Forgot To Blog

Things don't seem to slow down around here. When I think they are going to, I am wrong. We started last week with Ellie's special day. She is starting preschool this year, so we went out to celebrate. First stop was getting her hair cut. She has only had her hair cut once at the salon and she always wants to whenever we take Jackson. Kim was nice enough to even put a little braid in her hair. Then we got our nails painted. I got a pedicure while Ellie got her toenails and fingernails painted. She even got the flowers and rhinestones put on a few. Then we finished our morning getting some school supplies and eating outside at Sonic.Tuesday morning we had Lincoln's 1 year appointment. He checked out just fine. He weighs 19 lbs 5 oz putting him the 25th percentile (up from the 5th percentile at his 6 month) and was 29.5 inches long putting him in the 70th percentile. After his appoinment we headed over to my parents for a little pool time. We invited a few other families to come swim with us. There were 13 kids there all together (Lincoln was sleeping most of the time though) and surprisingly it didn't get too crazy. Of course everyone was excited about snacks. Sara, Bella and Brady were still in town since Lincoln's birthday (along with Lissy but she is always here :)) so we had them all for dinner Wednesday night. Of course it rained. It seems like it always does when we plan to have people over. Lincoln got a little jealous of Papa holding Brady so he had to get up on Papa's lap too.Jackson has been asking for steak ever since we went to Pear Tree several weeks ago. So Friday night we grilled some steaks and ate dinner outside. We got it in between rain showers.Andrew also got out his bike with the seat on the back and we let Lincoln try it out. He definitely didn't like the helmet. And he also wasn't too crazy about riding so it didn't last too long.
Jackson and Ellie went out to the ranch with Andrew on Saturday and then we had Briley come over in the afternoon. Her other grandma, Julie, was getting married that evening so we brought her over to play while people got ready. They played in the jeep and out back for awhile. Then they finished up playing in the basement. Our neighbors, the Valtoses, had a bbq that night which we were able to go to just a little bit of. They had a water slide set up for the kids which they loved. Briley even got to come over and play for a little bit before her mean dad made her go home to get ready to be a flower girl. Ellie never made it down the slide but she did like riding in style in the Escalade.
So we rushed around and got ready for the wedding after the fun. We went to the wedding and were able to stay at the reception for a little bit before Lincoln had had enough.
Sunday brought church and then we headed over to my parents again because my cousin Jim, his wife Jane, and their five kids were coming into town for a few days. The kids spent most of their time swimming. My camera was fogged over when I took this picture so this is the best I could do with a little editing. I think it looks like a picture taken with an older camera. With all the kids around, Ellie was finally brave enough to jump off the side. One time one of her floaties fell off and she swam to the side without a struggle. Tuesday morning we went to the first meeting of a new MOMS Club in town. One of our neighbor's started it up. Kristin and Ashlyn came too and Ashlyn decided she loved the merry-go-round. Kristin was such a good mommy and rode along with her.
Jackson and Ellie went to a movie later that evening with my parents and our cousins and then they stayed for a little sleepover. Everyone headed home today and now we are at home trying to catch up on stuff. We are having the Vincents over for dinner tonight which included Joe because he just got home from St. Louis yesterday. So I better get to work.
