Cousin Time

Things stayed busy the next week too. I got to help Lissy with a couple photo shoots. One was a sweet, little newborn and the other was for a childhood friend, Missy, and her fun daughters.

Bella and Brady were still at my parents and we ended up with another cousin for a few days. Andy and Autumn decided last minute that it would be a good idea to have Briley stay for a few days and have Lissy bring her back to Kansas City when she headed there for some shoots this past Thursday. So the first night we had Briley stay with us. It was also a big night for Jackson because he got to have his first sleepover at his friend Tony's house. He was very excited and I think it went pretty well.
So we headed back to our house that evening and the kids took a bath together.
Then we had some visitors in our back yard. I actually saw a doe and a fawn the next morning but they were too fast for me to get a picture. Then we made some popcorn and put in Tinkerbell. I was hoping they would fall asleep watching the movie, but that was not the case. They tried to play a few games and then it was up to bed.
It took awhile for them to fall asleep. They had a few little arguments and came downstairs a few times. Ellie finally fell asleep but Briley wasn't too sure. She never cried, but she would just stare at me and not say anything. I finally satisfied her when I brought up the portable DVD player and let her watch Mary Poppins until she fell asleep. She was out by around 11:30 and then they slept until close to 9 the next morning.
The next day we ended up having a big pool party. I had invited Leah over and their cousins were in town. Our aunt and her kids were in town (Jackson was very excited to have Colin and Makenzey back in town-they are great to him and Ellie both). Then Tiffany and her kids and their cousins came over along with Missy and her kids. It even sprinkled a little bit but it didn't stop anyone. Sara also showed up much to the excitement of Bella.
Lissy and Briley headed out on Thursday. My kids were beginning to get exhausted. Jackson fell asleep in one of the chairs Wednesday night upside down. This is how I found Ellie Thursday afternoon after some swimming.
Jackson had his last tee ball game Thursday night. He only had three kids show up from his team so we borrowed a couple from the opposing team and had a little game. Jackson's coach also wasn't there so Andrew stepped in. Jackson thought it was so cool.
Then Friday night we had Andrew's family in for dinner. The kids enjoyed playing outside together and then we brought out the water rocket. It didn't really work out this time and was pretty anticlimatic. We could only get it to shoot once and it didn't even go that high. Andrew said he would give it one more chance and if it doesn't work we are done with it.

Jackson went out to the ranch with Andrew on Saturday and helped him fix some fence. We stayed around the house most of the day and then that evening we brought out an inflatable pool toy I had bought at Wal-Mart awhile back. It was three pieces that connect together and spray water. So it provided some entertainment. Then it was church again today, some pool time and then I got to go see Eclipse with my mom and Molly. We got back to my parents and my dad had a yummy dinner ready for everyone. We ended the night with a walk and visiting with some neighbors. It has been some busy, full weeks but it was great getting to spend time with everyone.
