Today was Jackson's first day back at preschool. He was very excited and has been counting down the days. How many years will that last? Even though he was so excited it was still hard to get him moving this morning. It helped a little that we had cinnamon rolls for breakfast. He showed no hesitation at all. We unloaded his school supplies in his cubby and he started playing right away. Ellie started playing too. Jackson went for the hot wheels while Ellie went for the play kitchen. Just like last year, Jackson was ready for us to leave and then didn't want to come home when it was time to pick him up. He gets to play on the big playground this year which he thinks is totally great. To celebrate the first day of school, we then went to lunch at El Vaquero. Here are some pics from the morning-
It seems like things are finally starting to slow down as far as the house goes. The grass is looking great-I'll give it a little longer and then get a picture. We've got mulch around the shrubs out front. We'll still have to do some landscaping out back and on the side along with some trees, but that can wait until next year and beyond. We hung up shades on the arbor yesterday and this afternoon Jackson and I are going to attempt to put in landscape lights by the front sidewalk. I was tempted to put in the solar ones, but we had those before and they didn't seem to put out a lot of light. So we are going to try doing the wired ones. Next is working on Ellie's new room. She won't move into it for another several months, but I have our old bed and a dresser to paint, along with painting the room.
