Even though we didn't have small group during Spring Break, I still did my whole house cleaning on Wednesday-I mean we still do live here with five kids so things get messy. Then I got the twins up and dressed and set up their breakfast in the playroom so I could run on the treadmill. I locked the basement door so they couldn't get upstairs and into everything. They kept themselves entertained though. Miles "cooked" some of his French toast sticks for he and Bennett :-). After getting ready for the day I was putting away laundry and collecting trash for trash day, chores that the older kids usually do, and I was missing them. But we still have the twins here to keep us busy. Things are definitely quieter and less busy/hectic without the other three around. The twins kept busy playing with their cars and trains and riding around on their Pillow Racers. I wish I could have taken them outside but it was cold again. That night I made chicken pot pie for dinner since it is something Andrew and I both enjoy but the kids detest. The twins will actually eat different meals like the better if we don't give it to them directly but they just eat from our plates. I don't know why. A lot of times when Andrew will eat leftovers for lunch, they will want to sit on his lap and eat some too-and most likely they didn't want anything to do with it the night before when we had it for dinner. We had kind of a lazy evening. Andrew and the twins wrestled around a little and then Andrew and I actually ended up watching a movie even though we hadn't planned on it. Andrew turned on a Humphrey Bogart movie and we both stayed up to see the end of it. I didn't even know what it was until I just looked it up- Across the Pacific.
The Disney World crew flew to Orlando on Wednesday. Before they left, Ellie made her cousins rainbow loom bracelets with Disney charms on them. We had to make sure they were packed in her carry-on so she could hand them out. We got updates through texts and Facebook pictures and everything went well. They met up with Molly at their hotel and all ate dinner at The Grand Floridian. They had some funny pictures of the girls with the Wicked Step-Mother and Step-Sisters. Then it was up early the next day to head to Magic Kingdom, followed by some time at the pool and rest during lunch time, then back to Magic Kingdom for the evening. It was a cooler day for them and I think Lincoln complained a little about that but then Ellie ended up with a sunburn. But it sounds like they had a great time and even stayed late at Magic Kingdom to catch a few more rides.
I also worked on the ninja party. For some reason I am having a hard time pulling together my ideas for the ninja party. It should be pretty easy, but it just took a while for me to pull together my thoughts. Even though it started out cool, we had a nice day. I took another bike ride over lunch while Andrew was home. It was only in the 40s though, so still a little cool. Things didn't go as smoothly with this ride as I there was a little more traffic and I had to actually stop a couple times. I was a little hesitant about clipping in and out but I did okay. The first time I was hoping I didn't have to stop but the car in front of me took a while at the stop sign, so I waited until the last minute to unclip and thought I may fall over. Then it took me a few tries to clip back in. The second time at a stop light was better.
That evening, Aubri, Andrew's secretary, offered to watch the twins for us so we could go out for dinner. So we headed up to Greentop to Sebree's. And right behind us were the Mareks :-). We hadn't been there before and a lot of people have good stuff to say about it. They had a decent variety of choices. It was good, but not great. I would definitely go there again though and try something else. Then we drove around the lake a little so Andrew could show me the route he uses to bike out there if I ever attempt to head out that way. Next was a quick stop at Dollar General and then home. Aubri said things went well and the twins appeared to be good with her. And she wouldn't let us pay her. It was very nice of her-we will really miss her when she and her husband move this summer. We let the twins stay up a little longer and play around. We also got a phone call from Ellie. She and my dad had gone to a first aid station to get some cream for her sunburn and the fireworks started. So they were kind of stuck for a bit in the crowd and decided to give us a call. It was great to hear from her.
We had another nice day on Friday so I got a run in outside while Andrew was home for lunch. He headed out to the ranch to do some work when I got back. Then I showered off quickly while the twins ate lunch, heated up some lunch for me, and we all headed outside. I ate while the twins played and we were all happy :-). I had just started setting stuff out to get ready for dinner when I got a text from Andrew letting me know we were meeting his family at the lake for dinner. So I just saved everything for Saturday. We had not been to the Lake in a while but it was a nice dinner and good to see everyone. I got another call from Ellie on Friday letting me know that she went on Tower of Terror that morning. She said she really liked it and hoped to go again that evening. I think they spent their day at Hollywood Studios with a break after lunch for some resting and swimming. Then they finished up their night by eating ice cream at Beaches and Cream. They have a dessert there called "The Kitchen Sink" and it actually comes out in a bowl that looks like a sink-it is huge. I haven't heard if the kids were able to finish it off though.

The last picture Lissy sent that night was of the kids passed out on the bus. I think they thoroughly enjoyed their days at Disney World.
Andrew went to the ranch Saturday morning to gather his cattle and move them across the highway to his main pasture. He asked if I could drive out there a little later and help watch the highway to make sure no one passed while they were moving across the actual highway. So we got the call around 9:30 to head out there. I actually had to fill up (plus one of the twins had a poopy diaper just as we were getting ready to leave) so I was in a little bit of a hurry. It takes about 35-40 minutes to get to the pasture he leases. Bennett started whining a bit and his eyes were watery. Then he started looking a little pale, so I rolled down the windows and slowed down a bit. He seemed a little better after a while and I didn't want to freeze them out, so I rolled the windows up. But he started acting the same way again a little later and there was no stopping it-he threw up lovely milk chunks. There wasn't anyplace good to pull over, so I waited until we got to where we needed to be and pulled off in the drive and started trying to clean things up. Trying to clean vomit off a car seat is an almost impossible job. But I was thankful to have some extra clothes for Bennett and used up all my wipes trying to wipe down the car seat. We got done just in time for the drive across the road which the twins enjoyed watching. Especially since Andrew came right up by their window on his horse. We didn't have to stop any cars and it all appeared to go smoothly. Andrew was telling me I could go ahead and head home when I a little calf got away from the bunch and took off back across the highway. Andrew was off his horse at this point and chased him down. They ended up putting the calf up on Tom's horse with him until they could get him through the gate. I ended up having to take Andrew back to his parent's house so he could get a tractor to try to pull out one cow that got stuck down in a ditch.
Then it was time to head home. And our ride back wasn't successful either. Bennett threw up again and even more this time. It splattered on my camera case and coat too. So I strip him down in the garage when we get home and end up putting both he and Miles in the tub. Then I pulled the car seats out so I could get the covers in the wash. When I go back in to check on the boys, there are little brown bits floating around. I wasn't sure if it was poop or maybe some of the gunk that sometimes comes out of the floating toys if you forget to get the water out of them. I didn't want to chance it, so I drained the tub and put the boys in the shower to clean off. Then it was time to clean the bathtub and the car seats. But the foam in the car seats was falling apart as I was trying to clean them. They are 10 years old, which I know is too old, but I was trying to get us through until they needed boosters. I know, not the smartest idea. So I ended up ordering new car seats for them. Eventually we all had lunch and then the twins went down for their naps. While they napped I worked on cutting out and assembling most of Jackson's ninja party decorations.
Then when Andrew got home from the office, we made dinner. He grilled some steaks and I did the sides. Miles woke up from his nap with a fever and wasn't very interested in eating. So Bennett just took all the steak off of Miles plate and ate it. Andrew got to cuddle with Miles while I cleaned up dinner and about the time we started a movie, his Tylenol kicked in and he was back to his ornery self. They played downstairs a bit and then it was bedtime so we could watch the movie. We watched Catching Fire which we both liked. We both agreed that we will have to watch the last one when it comes out.
Down in Florida, the crew headed to Caroline and Jared's on Saturday morning. They got to spend a few hours at the beach and then at the pool at their complex. I think it was a great way to end their vacation. I can't wait to hear all about it. I did get to talk to Jackson for a bit and he said he was having fun. I also talked to my mom and she said the kids were doing great. Lincoln had a few whining spells, being cold and tired, but other than that they did well.
The next morning we woke up to snow again-yuck! I dealt with it by making hot chocolate. Andrew left early to go help his dad with the heifers. He wasn't able to get back in time for church, so I listened online. I also wasn't sure about taking Miles since his fever was just the night before. He woke up feeling fine though. So we will just spend the rest of the day getting a few things checked off the list. I hope to put together Miles and Bennett's dressers for when they move upstairs (not for a while) because we are hoping to start on the closets up there soon and I want the dressers in the closets. Then I am hoping Andrew gets back in the next few hours so I can do my grocery shopping. I really don't want to have to take the twins out in this cold, windy, snowy weather. Then the vacationers should be back (yay :-)) and I hope to have dinner ready for all of them.
