As the doctor was preparing to the do the ultrasound, we were joking around and Andrew said, "Just as long as it isn't twins." So now I know why have been feeling worse this pregnancy. I know I joked about it with some people, but I never truly thought I was pregnant with twins. Even as I write this, I still can't believe it. Here are Jackson and Ellie's reactions.
We are a bit overwhelmed, but so excited. And we have already had so many offers of help and support. We are very blessed! Leah has been so nice and has taken the Jackson and Ellie to the pool a couple of afternoons and had them over to play. And Heidi called me the other day with a surprise, she set it up for someone to come clean the house next week! I've only had someone clean our house once (our old house and it was a Christmas present from Andrew when I was pregnant with Jackson and working) and Heidi knows that I wouldn't get someone for myself. So now I have to start thinking about what I want them to clean.So now to what else has been happening around here. Andrew had a jury trial the last week of June and even though it wasn't the best result for his client, Andrew still felt like he did a good job so that always makes me happy. And while he was gone for that, we spent some time at my parents because her friend, Cheryl, and her daughter, Christa, were in town to visit. Last Friday Lauren got to come play with us. It was the first day we could shoot off fireworks, so I let Ellie and jackson get theirs out. Jackson learned how to light his own but he was disappointed his fireworks. His hand grenade ended up being a smoke bomb and he had some other ones that didn't do much. After fireworks and lunch, we headed over to my parents so they could all swim.
Then on Saturday we spent some time at my parents' house. My Aunt Robin and her family came into town for her husband, Tom, to run the marathon here in Kirksville. He actually won the whole thing-wow. I felt like such a bum because while they were all out around the pool hanging out (and watching my kids) and I was on the couch in the house feeling bad. I was there most of the day. And then we headed out to Matthew and Kristin's for a little dinner and fireworks with Andrew's family. It was kind of a little going away thing for Annie, Brad and Lauren because they left last Thursday to head up to Michigan to start a new job at a church up there. They are very excited about it and I am so happy that they have found a great place.Then Sunday night was yet another party, this time at my parents. I had to borrow some pictures from Leah because my camera was MIA. After the fireworks were done, my dad got the projector out and the kids watched a movie outside. A few of them fell asleep by the time it was over, but us adults had a great time just sitting around and chatting.
So after another late night, Andrew and I were up early to help work the early shift at the K-Life fireworks tent. After losing a tent in the storm, I think they came back pretty well. They did some advertising and handed out a lot of flyers and got a lot of people to come in and buy stuff. I am happy that Andrew and I get to be a part of a great ministry with some people that give a lot of themselves. So after our shift, we headed to my parents and the kids spent some time in the pool and then we had a block party at our church. They had some games for the kids to play and we stayed to watch some of the city's firework display.

After such a busy weekend, we were all exhausted. But we had to finish up Jackson's baseball season. They don't have a tournament for his age group, so they all receive medals. We were very thankful for Joe volunteering his time to coach the team and for the other parents that helped out.

So as we were still trying to recover, we headed out to St. Louis for another busy weekend. We went to a Cardinals game Friday night. It ended up being a pretty nice night out and we got to see the Cards hit two home runs. They ended up losing by 1 run. Our hotel was downtown so we just walked to and from the ball game. 
The next morning we headed out to the City Museum. It ended up being a great place for Jackson and Ellie and I think they could have stayed there all day. That had a lot of fun exploring the mazes and doing the slides and ferris wheel. This is a bus that hangs off the edge of the building.

We headed back to the hotel after the museum so that we could get cleaned up and get ready for the rest of the day. First we stopped by Monica's house (a friend from college). She has 3 boys and a girl so the kids had a great time playing together and even though it was a quick visit, it was great to see them for a little bit. Then we headed over to Mark and Cheryl's for a delicious dinner before we headed to the Muny to see Little Mermaid. Heidi tried at the last minute to get some tickets for the show for her family but we ended up not being able to sit by each other. We got to see each other for a little bit before the show. Hopefully she will be able to make it back to Kirksville soon so we can visit some more. But at the moment we had to head into the show. It was pretty hot and after a long day with no nap, Lincoln wasn't the most cooperative. Lissy even tried to take him out for a snack and he wasn't happy. So during intermission, we decided it was time to head back to the hotel. Jackson and Ellie were enjoying the show though and wanted to stay, so my parents were kind enough to keep them and bring them back to the hotel later. We headed back to Kirksville Sunday morning and Andrew headed to work for a little bit. Now it is time to get ready for a new week that actually isn't too busy which will be nice.
