Andrew's Birthday & Soccer

We got back into the swing of things after vacation. Andrew celebrated his 34th birthday on Tuesday. Jackson had soccer practice that evening so we ended up just going to La Fuente for his birthday dinner after practice. Caroline and her friend were actually there too eating dinner outside. So we talked to them for a little bit and our seats inside ended up being right by the back window so Ellie and Jackson kept knocking on the window and waving at them. Jackson and Ellie were also very excited to have Andrew were the big sombrero and told the waiter that it was their dad's birthday and they wanted him to wear the big hat. But Andrew then promised them a snack if they didn't say another word about it and he made us all quickly finish our meals and we were out of there before they could do it. So we headed home and Andrew opened his gifts- a Mizzou cap and some leather coasters for the office with the office name on them. It was starting to get dark so we headed inside to do his "cake" which was actually pumpkin pie. I decided at the last minute (like around 3:30 that day) to make a banner for the pie. It ended up not taking too long and was a fun way to decorate a pie. Andrew liked it too. :)My parents and Caroline came by to have some pie and I bought some cupcakes at Hy-Vee for the rest of us that don't like pumpkin pie.Lincoln did like the pie and demanded Andrew share some with him. Then it was on to Wednesday which was dance class and small group which were both fun. Thursday was Little K and we brought Kylee along with us this time and she was very excited. Then the kids got to go to my parents for awhile while Andrew and I went to a meeting at church. Andrew decided last minute to go to a CLE conference in Kansas City on Friday so he left early in the morning and was gone all day. He left the conference a little early and stopped by the ranch on his way home and did some bulldozing around his ponds. Ellie, Lincoln and I mostly hung out around home because I was babysitting Kate. The girls were excited when school was over and we got to pick up the boys. It was a beautiful day so we played outside after school and when Leah got back into town she and Alex came over and we ordered some pizza. Then we got to work on some stuff for Kate's birthday party.

This cool guy had his first soccer game on Saturday.
Lincoln had fun climbing around in the chairs. After the game we headed home and decided to try to seal our patio. Andrew ran to the concrete company and got some sealer and got started. Once he figured out the best way to do it, it went pretty quickly. I dumped all of my potted plants and tried to clean up a little. Then Andrew was off to doze again. Then the rain came. I think the sealer had enough time to dry though. We had a break during the evening before the monsoon came through last night. We turned on the lights on the back of the house and just saw a sheet of water in front of us overflowing from the gutter above. Sad thing is they just put seed down at Andrew's office so it probably all washed away. We'll just have to wait and see.
Now the rain has finally moved on and the sun is shining. We had a nice morning at church and now Andrew and Lincoln are snoozing. Jackson and Ellie are playing and put all of the patio furniture back on the patio and do some office work.
