A Cold Weekend

This weekend brought some family to town along with some pretty cold weather. Lissy got into town on Thursday and I got to help her do a newborn shoot for our neighbors. She had several more shoots over the weekend and a few were outside. It was unseasonably cold this weekend and it put a damper on our activities. Sara, Ryan, and Bella got into town on Friday night.

We thought about going to the pumpkin patch and corn maze on Saturday, but it was very cold. My dad did try to entertain the kids outside for a little while though. They played in the leaves and he made a fire in the firepit.

Little Miss Bella did not enjoy getting dressed up for the cold.
But she did like getting dressed up in a dance outfit. Later in the afternoon, Lissy braved the cold again with my kids to get a quick shot. She got it all set up while we waited in the car and then Ellie and Jackson went out to get situated and lastly I brought Lincoln out. It went pretty quickly and she got exactly what I wanted. Thank you Lissy!
The kids ended the night with some cookie baking with Papa. Bella even got to join in on the action this time. I think we did this to drown our sorrows over the Cardinals losing. We actually had tickets for the Game 4 of the series, but it just didn't happen. Jackson was pretty disappointed. He was really looking forward to going to the game. We were talking about it yesterday morning and he said, "I think they just forgot their spirit." I agree Jackson.

And finally, we put up our Halloween decorations today. I put most of them up while Jackson was at school and he was so excited when he came home. He and Ellie love them and are so excited for Halloween. Here is our mantle with our new addition this year-witches hats from the dollar store.

And here is our little bit of decoration outside. I waited until Jackson got home to do the lights so he could help me. Andrew got to enjoy it all for just a bit anf then he was back to the office. He has a big jury trial this week so we won't be seeing much of him. Good luck Andrew!
