Wedding Week

We had a very busy, but fun week this last week. It was mostly about preparation for the wedding, but we still did manage some downtime with the kids. My parents had most of it ready to go by this point and there were just some last minute things to do along with all the decorating. Lissy, Sara, and Bella got into town on Tuesday and they all joined us for a fun-filled tee ball game. Lissy was in charge of pictures, so I'll have to get them from her later on (she had a very busy week with three photo sessions and all sorts of things to make for the wedding). Then on Wednesday, Amanda and Carson joined us for our church playgroup. I think the kids enjoyed having something different to do. Then Lauren got to join us for a little bit while Granny went to an appointment. She was in town for the week while Annie and Brad were at youth camp so it was nice that they all got to see each other several time through the week. Wednesday night we began the big move. We had several car loads of stuff that head to the reception site in LaPlata, so we started early. Things really started moving on Thursday. The rest of the family started coming into town. Mary took our kids for the day, which was really helpful. I got to enjoy a relaxing morning getting my nails done. The nail place was pretty busy, so I got to sit in the pedicure massage chair for about 15 minutes before they even started on me. It felt really good as my back has been bothering me with the pregnancy. After lunch, it was time to start decorating. It was crazy how much there was to do, but we were able to get a lot done before dinner time. Poor Bella was with us the whole time and she did a great job. I was able to get a few pictures, but it wasn't done and the pictures just don't do it justice. Some of the crew went back after dinner and finished up a lot. Those of us with kids stayed home and let the kids swim for the evening.

This is the bird's nest chandelier that my dad made. It was made out of twigs and had white lights and crystals hanging from it. It is really hard to see here, but it looked really good and he got lots of compliments on it.

This is one of the food stations- the Ballpark station. Sara did a really good job setting it up and she used a lot of Zane's old baseball stuff. Amanda had the Chinese one that also turned out really cute, but it wasn't done until the next day and I didn't take any pictures on Friday. I had the Italian station and I kept mine pretty simple.

Friday was spent picking up dresses and tuxes and finishing up decorating. Doesn't seem like much, but it was very busy. I also had to bag up around 200 cookies for the reception. Thankfully Molly and Heather were at my house to babysit the kids and they helped me out. Everything had to be done by 3:00, because we had to get ready for Kaitlin and Zane's first ceremony. Since they were getting married outside, it wouldn't be recognized in the Catholic church. So they had a short ceremony on Friday before the rehearsal with just immediate family attending.

By the time we got done with it, it was pouring outside. It quit in time for the rehearsal, but the backyard was pretty mushy. The rehearsal went pretty smoothly and then it was off to Napoli's for the rehearsal dinner which Andrew was most excited about. We had a delicious dinner and then Kaitlin and Zane handed out their gifts. Jackson got a little baseball bat with some of Zane's old baseball cards on it and he also got some Big League Chew which he was very excited about. Ellie got a cute little purse that had a tiara and jewelry in it along with a bracelet that Caroline made for her to wear for the wedding. Caroline also made necklaces and earrings for the all the bridesmaids and candle lighters-they were very pretty. After the dinner we headed home and I collapsed and tried to rest up for the marathon the next day.
