Molly played with the kids a bit after I got home and then she had to head home to finish getting ready to leave. Andrew brought Jackson and Ellie home and was getting the double snap-n-go stroller to take out to Kevin and Emily (they just got to bring home their twins who are now 3 months-very exciting) when disaster struck. I guess Lincoln needed to go to the bathroom and had trouble getting into the half bath because of the door knob cover I had on it to keep the twins out of the bathroom. So he decided to use our bathroom and I guess had trouble getting up on the toilet (it is a little higher) while also having waited too long to get to the bathroom. Andrew went in first and told me I better come. There was poop smeared all over the side of the toilet, inside the seat, and Lincoln's legs and pants. Andrew took care of getting Lincoln cleaned off, while I bleached, and bleached, and bleached the toilet and surrounding area. And then I bleached and bleached and bleached the shower after Lincoln was done in there. Then I washed his clothes on the sanitize cycle and then did the clean cycle with bleach afterwards. Oh the joys of parenthood. I was thankful Andrew was there though and he stuck around to help. I still wasn't feeling that great with my cold, so I think he felt bad for me.
Thursday night we had dinner at my parents since Molly was leaving the next day. Before we headed over to my parents, I had to run by the bank. As we turned on Baltimore to head north, I commented to the kids that the sky looked dark, like a spring storm was coming. We were at the bank maybe just five minutes or so and I had my window down waiting for our deposit slips and all of sudden there was snow blowing in my window. I looked up and it looked like a blizzard outside. It was crazy. It was hard to see the road as we drove to my parents. I was glad we weren't that far away. Then we get there and my mom saw us coming so she opened the garage door. I got both of the twins out and I couldn't convince Lincoln to get out. I tried a few times as the wind and snow were blowing at the twins and I finally gave up, ran them into the garage and then went back to get him. It was all over after about 20 minutes or so, but then everything was really slick. The yummy dinner was worth it though. And of course getting to see Molly before she left. We will miss having her around but know she will have a great time.
My mom gave me some different cough medicine that night and I slept much better after a few nights of pretty rough sleep. I did take some more during the middle of the night and it had codeine in it, which made getting up in the morning hard. My original plan was to swim but since I was moving very slowly in the morning, I opted to run instead after the kids left for school. Andrew actually stayed home that morning instead of going to the office but I didn't realize it until I had already gotten up to get the kids up or else I probably would have slept in :-). When I got around to running, I didn't do very well and ended up only doing a mile. And since Lincoln didn't have school, he actually slept in. He really needed it though since he had been kind of cranky the last few days. You can definitely tell when he needs some sleep. He did say a very sweet thing though later on that morning. He said, "I wish my head could go into my heart so I could see Jesus." Love that kid. Later that day he and Alex played together and it included some adventures outside even though it was cold.
Ellie was very excited for Friday night to come because Faith had invited her, Addi, and Gracie to go to the high school Courtwarming games. They had made some loom bracelets for the girls team and got to give them to the girls. Ellie said they also got to go into the locker room and look around a bit. She said it was really messy :-). But she had a great time and wants to go again.
Lissy got into town that night so we had her over for dinner. And then we had basketball games the next morning. Andrew took the older three out to the ranch before the games though. I was finally able to get a little longer run in that morning but it was still pretty rough. We ended up being at the YMCA for around 2 1/2 hours but the twins did much better this time. They had a few melt downs but we also took turns having them watch Polar Express videos on our phones during the last game and that helped. Jackson and Ellie both keep getting better and both seem to enjoy playing which I love.
The weather was much nicer on Saturday so I insisted the kids get outside and play. I guess Ellie took a little nap first with her dad and then he went to the office for the afternoon. I spent most of my day trying to fix our printer. I couldn't get it connected to our network after switching to cable. While I was working through that, I tried to print something and it got jammed and totally messed up the printer. After some work and research I discovered that a part would probably have to be repaired and it wasn't worth it, so I ordered a new printer. Bummer. I did end up getting a bigger printer though that can print on 12x12 sheets which will be great with my Silhouette. Then Lissy came over again that night for dinner. We had Chicken and Noodles which I love, but it is another story for my kids. I knew Lissy would like it too, so I made it anyways. Lincoln cried, Ellie ate it pretty well, and Jackson told me it was good but I could tell he was kind of choking down his bites :-). And then you have to add in the twins who are again having a rough spell. They cried quite a bit through dinner too. It is always fun at the Farwell house during dinner time. They did enjoy some of Andrew's ice cream that night though.
I'm sure Lissy thinks we are just a blast beginning with that lovely dinner, helping the kids clean up the table after dinner, and then spending the evening with them showing her some of the great cat and other random videos on YouTube. Such an exciting night :-).
Andrew headed to the office Sunday morning but got back in time for me to do the grocery shopping before church. He had to work the booth at the second service, so we had to be there early and we actually made it this time. Amazing. After church we picked up some Colton's and headed out to Matthew and Kristin's to celebrate Tom's birthday, which was actually on Wednesday. Jackson was excited to hear we were going out to Matthew and Kristin's. I asked him why he liked their house and he said that is was like a mansion and they have a big, comfy couch that reclines. He does make himself at home out there. He even changed the channel from football to Disney-I'll have to tell him he can't do that next time. After a nice lunch, it was time to head home so the twins could nap. I washed the car and was working on cleaning out the garage and car when I got summoned to the back yard to play some basketball. Andrew was working with Ellie and Jackson and so I got to help out a bit too. We played for a bit which was great for them. Afterwards, Ellie kept playing for a bit and I finished up the car. She was out there as it was getting dark.
We had Lissy over for dinner again and then she took Ellie and Lincoln back over to my parents for a sleepover. Jackson enjoyed hanging out at home with us. The kids didn't have school the next day so Andrew let him sleep in a bit (7am) and then he had him go out to the ranch to help move some cattle. But I think Lincoln and Ellie slept in a bit at my parents. We started getting texts early in the morning about Molly's adventures getting checked in for her Disney World internship. She found out the she got the apartment she wanted with the girls she wanted. She also got her job assignment and she will be in Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom which is perfect for her. Lissy brought Ellie and Lincoln home around lunch time and I ran to Joe's Carpet Barn to look at some more carpet. She took the kids outside to play which they enjoyed. So the older ones spent the rest of the day playing with their friends. Faith helped Ellie a little more on her basketball which was sweet. They were having so much fun, I let Ellie skip dance. Our days of playing outside are very limited right now, so I thought it would be okay. They did go to basketball practice that night though. We had accumulated some leftovers from dinners the few nights before, so that was going to be dinner. But Lissy decided she wanted to take the older ones out for Mexican after practice. Then Andrew decided I should go with them and he would stay with the twins.
It was back to school today and all of our activities get back into full swing this week-Elevate, Small Group, dance, gymnastics, Little K, swimming, and basketball, plus more cold weather :-).
