2 Months

Well the twins turned 2 months old this past Monday and they went in to have their check-up and immunizations with my dad. Miles weighed 8lbs 14oz and was 22 1/2" long while Bennett passed up his older brother weighing in at 9lbs 7oz and was 22 3/4" long.  Two of the nurses did their immunizations at the same time and they did awesome.  They both screamed when it happened but then quickly calmed down.  I felt bad that I couldn't hold and console both of them though.  But the shots didn't seem to affect them too much later that day.  They are both starting to coo and smile more and it is so much fun to watch.  I love putting them beside each other and see how they get their arms and legs tangled up.  It usually looks like Bennett is trying to beat up Miles and Miles takes it so well.  They have started taking a little rice cereal at night and are sleeping a little longer.  They eat seven times a day and it can take around an hour to feed them.  So when I wonder where my days go, I realize that I spend seven of them just feeding the twins.  I spend more time feeding them than amount of time I get to sleep :-).  My parents have taken them a night or two a week which is still very helpful since I don't think I have had a nap since we got home from the hospital-I never did expect to nap though.  As much as they wear us out (actually it is the combination of them along with the other three) we are really enjoying this and are so blessed to have all five of our kids in our lives.  I find this series of pictures funny and I had a hard time narrowing them down.

Kind of starting to fit into the hats Lissy gave them.

Jackson is staying busy with school, basketball, WAC (after-school program at church) and Little K.  He has been doing well at school and it is helpful right now that he doesn't have much trouble getting his homework done.  He has new motivation at school that if they get a 100% on their spelling pre-test then they don't have to take the final one at the end of the week and he has been doing pretty well with that.  He just has a couple more ball games left and then he gets a little bit of a break because I don't think we will be doing spring soccer.

Ellie is doing well at school too and is already excited to start kindergarten next year.  Last week, she made sure we stopped by her old class so that Lincoln could meet Ms Amanda and Ms Eagen since they will probably be his teachers next year if we ever decide to start potty training (again 7 hours of my day are spent feeding the twins so potty training probably won't start for a couple months).  Then Ellie spends a lot of her afternoons begging me to do something fun.  She paints, colors, does puzzles and games along with watching some movies.  The other day some swimsuits came in that I had ordered her so I let her try them on and get in our tub for a big bubble bath.

And when we had snow, she got herself all ready and did some sledding.

Lincoln is always entertaining us along with causing some frustration :-).  Andrew and I randomly send each other and family members pictures of Lincoln on our phones because he can be so silly.  He loves to wear these big green gloves (they are actually mine) and you can find us walking into Wal-Mart with him wearing his cowboy boots, a hat and his big green gloves.  Andrew thought this picture looked like it came from "Weekend at Bernie's"

The other day I went to Wal-Mart with Ellie, Lincoln and the twins.  I really haven't had much trouble taking them to the store.  The twins are usually good and Lincoln can be a handful sometimes, but not horrible.  Well this time he had to get his gloves and cowboy hat on first and then I finally got him out of the car and we were walking to the store when there was a big wind that blew his cowboy hat off.  It started blowing across the parking lot and I had to run after it while holding both of the babies in their car seats and leaving Ellie and Lincoln just standing in the middle of the parking lot.  Thankfully they didn't get hit by a car and I was able to get the hat again.  It didn't get much better in the store as Ellie was asking for everything and Lincoln spent a majority of the time slowly following me as he cried.  The next morning my parents took the three oldest with them to Kansas City for their Christmas present-going to see Phineas and Ferb Live.  They got to meet up with some of their cousins and stayed the night at Andy and Autumn's.  They also got to go bowling which they love.  So thank you Mom and Dad for giving the kids' a great time and we were so thankful to have a little break.  Andrew and I ate leftovers for dinner on the couch and watched a movie-nothing exciting at all but it was great. 

On Monday evening, Andrew and I got to be part of a marriage panel at our church.  The college-age ministry was finishing up a series on relationships and they ended it by having five married couples from our church answer questions for them about married life.  It went pretty well and was fun.  We are hoping that they actually got something out of it.  Of course Tuesday was Valentine's Day. Jackson and Ellie both had parties at school.  Jackson had to bring in a box and he came up with most of the ideas for it on his own.  I helped him put it together and he was very proud of his creation.

I made Jackson and Ellie's cards for school but then Lissy did a little different version of Jackson's adding the sombrero that we all thought was pretty funny.

Andrew brought me some pretty roses during lunch even though we had decided not to spend the money on gifts this year.  I usually get him dark chocolate bars when I'm at Aldis and had given him some the night before and jokingly said, "Happy Valentine's Day," so  he thought he should get something for me too :-).  We gave the kids photo pillowcases and had my parents and Molly over for a breakfast dinner and heart-shaped rice krispie treats for dessert along with my mom's pink champagne cake.  Mary also stopped by earlier in the day to give the kids some goodies and she got to hang out with Miles and Bennett for a little while and they performed for her giving her all sorts of smiles and coos.

Now I am late feeding the twins and need to get lunch for the other three.  They don't have school today or Monday so they are excited for their four day weekend.  Some of my family is coming into town and we get to celebrate Owen's 1st birthday tomorrow!
