The rest of our week was filled with the usual stuff. I am still trying to get a lot of little things done around the house. My mom thinks I’m nesting and Andrew thinks I am just being my usual self. I say I am just being prepared. One day I cleaned out the kids closets and drawers again, cleaned out the shoe baskets, kind of cleaned up and reorganized the garage so Andrew can start parking in there again as it is starting to get colder outside, unhooked all the hoses outside, cleaned out the kitchen cabinet with the glasses/cups to make room for more bottles, marked the kids’ measurements on our closet wall (I keep forgetting to do this) and set up the office for Christmas wrapping. I didn’t get any wrapping done yet, but it is ready to go. 
The kids are always entertaining. Lincoln sometimes likes to sing his own songs. He even does hand gestures when he does it. The check-out lady at Aldis found him pretty funny the other day. I was just happy he wasn’t crying because he really does not like shopping. Ellie likes to sing and dance too. She thinks she knows the words to songs, but really doesn’t. And we have talked about how some songs don’t say very nice things, so she has been changing the lyrics. As I have said before, she really likes to sing and dance to “Tik Tok” by Kesha because it is on Just Dance 2. Well the other day she said, “And the party don’t start until Grandma gets here…” My mom found it a compliment :-). Ellie also loves playing Memory Match and she is good. I am so impressed. And her and Jackson are almost done memorizing the books of the New Testament. Ellie just listens to Jackson say them and she learns them too. I think they have four or five books left. Jackson takes credit for Ellie’s success. We were saying them on the way to school the other day and he said, “I’m a good teacher.”On Friday, I said goodbye to the kiddos and Andrew and headed down to Big Cedar in Branson with my parents and sisters for Caroline’s bachelorette party. I don’t think I have ever done a weekend away from the kids like this before. Andrew and I have done a couple of weekends, but not just me for a “girls weekend”. It was beautiful down there and the weather was perfect.
Caroline’s friend Meghan joined us too. 
The first night we had late dinner reservations so we just hung out on a patio area for awhile just talking and enjoying the view. Then Caroline opened some presents and it was pretty awkward because my dad was there while she opened a few things of lingerie. He just kept his head down, looking at stuff on his phone. 
Dinner was fun because we got to surprise my dad with he and my mom’s Christmas present-tickets to game 6 of the World Series. Hopefully they get to go. My mom snuck them in his menu so he would see them when he opened it up. It didn’t quite go the way we were hoping it would because the light was so dim in the restaurant that he had a hard time seeing them. My parents also got Andy a ticket for his Christmas present and Autumn was supposed to skype him in on her phone, but the cell service was bad so that didn’t work either. But they are both very excited!
After dinner we watched Bridesmaids. Kaitlin joined Amanda and I in our bed-she really liked my maternity pillows. 
The rest of the weekend we did some shopping , eating and relaxing. My parents and I headed back to our rooms after dinner Saturday night while the rest of them headed to the Buzzard Bar where they had a singing cowboy. I was pretty worn out, so I was excited to go back, get in my pjs, relax and watch the awesome Cardinal’s game. But the others had a good time at the bar too. It ended up being a great weekend with beautiful weather. I am really glad I got to go. 
Oh and here is a picture of our friendly neighbor. He walked by our back door each morning. 
Andrew did a great job with the kids and he would send me pictures. Of course they went to La Fuente Friday night and Ellie and Jackson were very excited to get some temporary tattoos. I am so proud. 
They headed out to the ranch Saturday morning and got to hang out with Granny and Ashlyn and Luke. Then Jackson had a birthday party to go to for a girl in his class and they were kind enough to let Ellie tag along too. Andrew sent me this picture this morning and I am assuming they were heading out to the ranch again. I sent him a picture of a Wooly Mammoth skeleton they had in the registration area of Big Cedar to show the kids and he sent me a text back that said, “Cool. We are debating what will happen when Lincoln toots because he has been swallowing gum.”
I think they definitely have more fun with their dad. Maybe I should have weekends away more often. I got home to a mostly clean house, happy kids and husband and Andrew even did several loads of laundry. He did admit that he put some clothes through the wash with a pair of jeans that had been in the back of his truck with some cans of diesel that had been rolling around. So the clothes ended up smelling like diesel. He even ran them through the wash twice. That is a hard smell to get rid of. So we are trying to run them through the 2 hour stain cycle now to see if it helps. Thanks for giving me the chance to go Andrew!
