Last Friday was my dad's birthday and we helped him celebrate. My mom made him mushroom steak for dinner and we had a red velvet cake that my Grandpa Mike and Karen had sent to him. He told the kids that he couldn't blow out the candles by himself because his teeth would fall out so they got to help.
Saturday morning, Andrew headed out to the ranch with Jackson and Ellie. I had quite a bit of office work to do so Andrew brought it home in his briefcase. They all thought it would me funny to play a trick on me. I was still in bed and I heard this, "Hey Lady." They said it several times and I open my eyes and see this (like the Geico commercials).
We had our usual stuff this past week along with getting more stuff ready for Christmas. We just started a different version of Elf on the Shelf this year. His name is Christoper Pop-in-kins and he is a little more cartoonish-looking. He has been hanging from our chandliers, the curtain rod, and the garland, in the tree, and on top of the kitchen cabinets. Lincoln loves seeing him and usually starts talking excitedly when he sees him. I tried to get it on video, but he gets a little camera-shy (and sometimes ticked off at me for trying to take a picture of him). This is the best that I got.
Lincoln also gets very excited about Ho Ho. My parents have a plastic Santa in their backyard that he likes to look at and go out and touch. The other night he kept pointing out our back door saying, "Ho Ho?" along with his other gibberish that I can't understand but he is very serious about. So we called Papa to ask where Ho Ho was and look who showed up at our back door the next morning. 
Dad said he just happened to be at Westlakes that morning before going to the office to get a few things and saw that the Santa was on clearance :). It has been great entertainment for the kids and Lincoln was very concerned when Santa faceplanted it and blew across the patio from the horrible wind we have had. Before the cold came we had a decent afternoon so we headed outside for a little bit and the kids hugged on Santa.
We did get Santa upright again and got some tube sand to try to anchor him down. But my dad came by Sunday (he was trying to install our tot-locks which was a Christmas present from last year but our cabinets wouldn't work with them so we'll have to try something else-thanks for the try though dad) and before he left he stablized Santa by putting a long bolt through his base into the ground.
Friday night we headed to watch Molly cheer at the high school basketball game. It was actually at the high school instead of the Primary school which I always like. Brings back memories. The kids had fun and even though the game wasn't too close, it was kind of intense. They were playing Moberly and they always bring quite a crowd and both sides of students get a little rowdy.
Andrew and I had a Christmas party to go to Saturday night and my parents watched the kids. Lissy was in town too, so she got to harass Jackson. It snowed a little bit throughout the day but picke dup that evening. We got home around ten and Jackson and Ellie really wanted to play outside. We decided it was warmer at that time than it would be the next day so we let them. Jackson did a little snowboarding on his sled.
Now I am just trying to get more Christmas things done around here along with my other duties. We have something every night this week so Christmas will be here before we know-exciting!
