We had a full week this past week. On Monday we got to go to a concert at our church. Leah got a group to come at the last minute as they were heading home to Texas from their Christmas Tour. It was a group her husband, Joe, really likes-Shane & Shane. We took the kids which was okay for about the first hour, which was just the opening act. So we didn't get to stay for the whole thing and I spent some time out in the lobby with Lincoln, but it was a great concert.
Tuesday night was this sweet girls Christmas program at school.
We got there about 1/2 hour before it started to get a seat, so of course you have to find ways to pass the time (you can't really see, but Andrew is on his Blackberry too).
Here she is walking into the program.
We weren't supposed to take flash pictures, so this is the best I could get. She also had a kid standing right in front of her so it was hard to see her a lot of the time. It was actually a pretty funny program mainly because of some kids acting up. The teachers didn't think it was too funny though. Ellie was really sweet though.
Wednesday was time for dance lessons again. Lincoln has decided he likes Ellie's tap shoes and wanted to try to join the class. He got really mad at me for putting them back in Ellie's bag.
Then Wednesday night we had our small group Christmas dinner. After eating (and a minor disaster down in the basement bathroom that involved one kid coming up naked and Lincoln coming up with his pants and arms of his shirt wet, and a wet bathroom floor with wet toilet paper all over it) some of us went up to the bonus room and wrapped all the gifts we got for the families we were helping out for Christmas.
Then on Thursday we had a surprise for the kids-going to see Santa in Columbia. Andrew couldn't go because he is prepping for a jury trial he has in a couple of weeks. So my parents were nice enough to help me take the kids. We picked up Jackson after school and didn't tell them until then what we were doing. We started out with some pizza at Shakespeare's, then a little Christmas shopping at Target so they could get presents for each other and finally to Bass Pro to see Santa. Lincoln didn't think very much of him and sadly Santa didn't think too much of us either. Maybe he was just tired, but I don't think he really talk to the kids and he was not even smiling in the picture.

Then onto the games.
And I think they each found something they wanted for Christmas. Lincoln sat on his most of the time and got bad when we took him off.
Still trying to figure out the whole Santa thing-he was definitely not like the plastic one in his backyard.
Friday night I went to a cookie exchange that was for women in the church. We each brought some of our favorite cookies and we were able to take a plate of all the others home with us. We didn't have anything going on Saturday or Sunday night so last night I finally started wrapping and tonight we are watching Fred Clause and then I'll do some more wrapping. I finished up our goodie baskets this weekend and the kids delivered them yesterday and today. I tried something new this year that I saw on a blog-cupcakes in a jar. You put the batter directly in a little canning jar and cook it in there. They also had a peppermint ganach filling and peppermint icing.
The kids have two more days of school and both of them have their parties on Tuesday. Then family starts arriving in town Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. I am so excited to see everyone. It is going to be a crazy, fun Christmas.
