When Things Started to Get Crazy

I am a couple weeks behind on posting, so I'll start this one with the Wednesday before last when the kids and I went to Kansas City to pick up Molly who was flying in from Dallas. After we got there and had lunch at Red Robin, we ran by a Hobby Lobby to pick up a few things. It was there that Molly called to inform us that her flight was delayed. So we found a Target to spend some time in and then went to pick her up. The airport was the busiest I had ever seen it and the parking garage at her terminal was full. After driving in circles around the terminal a few times, we decided to just leave the airport and park in a restaurant parking lot and wait until we were sure she had landed. Then we just picked her up at the curb and were on our way. She ended up being around 3 hours late. With Lincoln crying 3/4 of the trip, it ended up being a pretty long day. But my mom was the one driving, so I past the time making these for Ellie and even had some extra ribbon so Molly joined in on the fun on the way home making some for herself. So we get caught up with stuff on Thursday and were getting ready to eat some pizza before we headed to Jackson's tee ball game when I get a call from Molly saying that Dad fell off a ladder and they were taking him to the ER. I headed there as soon as Andrew got home and as most people know, my dad ended up having a broken clavicle and a skull fracture. They decided it would be best to send him to Columbia. So we sent him off on the ambulance and then I drove my mom and Molly down there. We got down there around 10pm and Sara and Lissy met us there and Caroline arrived a little after us driving all the way from her classes up in Iowa. I stayed for a little while and got my mom checked into a hotel room and then headed back around 12:30. The next day Andrew's mom thankfully came over around 10 so I could head back to Columbia. Andrew had to work his calves that morning and was gone by 5:30. My dad ended up having surgery on the broken clavicle and we found out later in the day that he did end up having a little brain bleed and they wanted to keep him another night. So my mom and I headed over to the hotel to get a room again, switched up luggage, and Sara and I headed back to our homes with plans for me to come back again the next day to hopefully bring my dad home. As I was heading out of town, I called Andrew and he told me it was ridiculous to come back that night so I turned around and headed back to the hospital. After a trip to Target for some toiletries and clothes, I was good to go. We were able to bring me dad home on Saturday and got home around 1:30. Lissy had a photo shoot that evening and then we headed back to St. Louis and get to Sara and Ryan's around midnight. The next morning, Lissy had to be at the airport around 7:30 to fly down to Dallas and help Amanda fly back with her kids. Ryan kindly took her to the airport and I got ready and made a quick trip to see Heidi's new house before she headed to work that morning. It was seriously a 15 minute visit, but I was happy I got to do it-their house is beautiful. Then it was back to Sara and Ryan's for a bit to hang out with Miss Bella and Brady. Bella and I became buds and she let me dress her and requested I change her poopy diaper. I was such a lucky girl. Sara felt bad because my original plans were for my trip to St. Louis to be a relaxing time for me to visit some friends without my kids. But then I found out Amanda and her kids were flying in and thought it was silly for my parents to drive to St. Louis to pick them up when I was already going to be there and then there was that whole thing with my dad and my quiet weekend quickly got a makeover including a little girl who would gladly let me change her poopy diaper. I still did get to see some friends though including my friend Kim who was in town for a wedding. We had not seen each other in a couple years and we were supposed to meet up Monday morning with another friend but I had to change plans. So Kim and I met for lunch and got to spend a couple of hours together before I picked up Amanda and Lissy at the airport. After lunch, I picked up everyone at the airport and we headed back to Sara and Ryan's to drop Lissy off, do some feedings and let Carson run around a little before we made the trip back to Kirksville. The trip back ended up taking longer than expected as Amanda needed to stop by a Target and the one we picked ended up being a little out of the way. Then we decided to get some Arby's for dinner and it took them forever to make our order. And just as we are getting started again, a severe thunderstorm rolls in and we decided to pull off at a gas station as I felt like our car was going to blow off the interstate. So we finally got home around 9 that night and I was tired!
Monday night I made dinner and took it over to my parents and the kids got to play while Andrew helped clean the pool. Then we picked Carson up Tuesday morning after our Wal-Mart run so he could play at our house. He was very excited and was such a good boy. He loved riding in the jeep.

My parents came by later that day and took the kids to see Karate Kid. Jackson really liked it and my parents said it was a good movie, but maybe just a little long for Ellie and Carson. The kids got to swim that night as we all hung out by the pool. Molly started a dance party with the kids.

Colton aka St. Colton
And our little cutie.
Then on Wednesday we ended up having Lauren stay with us for a few hours which worked out great because it was her birthday. The kids played outside and inside, then we had some lunch, let Lauren open her gift from us and headed over to the pool (which always needs to include snacks).
