My dad celebrated his birthday on Wednesday so we joined them for dinner, presents, and dessert. We (all of the kids) gave him a mixer earlier and then I gave him his other gift-a griddle. How many guys get excited about a mixer and a griddle-MY DAD! And to top it off my mom gave him an electric knife as one of his gifts.
Last night we headed out to Kristin and Matthew's. We brought them some dinner and got to see Ashlyn again. She is such a cutie and such a good baby. I don't think I have heard her cry yet and they say she hasn't had a real screaming cry yet. She does make a lot of noises while she sleeps, but they are very cute noises. And she did so well sleeping while Jackson and Ellie were running around and being loud. And then she was nice enough to wake up for us right before we left.
And then today we headed to Columbia. My mom was taking my Aunt Dorthy to an eye appointment so I thought it would be a good time to tag along and go see Santa. Jackson was very excited about going. This morning he freaked out a little because he had wanted to cut out the items he wanted for Christmas from all of the catalogues he had collected but we didn't have time. I told him he could just tell Santa, because Santa remembers everything. But he got upset because he didn't know what the items were called, he just knew what they looked like. So we took the catalogues with us in the car and we figured out what the items were called. But then we got to see Santa and as soon as Jackson actually saw him, he got shy. He kept telling me he was nervous. He knew he needed to do this, but he was so nervous. So he finally decided if he wanted presents from Santa, he had to tell him what he wanted. Wouldn't you know my camera battery ran out at the time he was telling him. Ellie would only get within arms reach so she could get a coloring book.
Oh, and in case you didn't figure out that last post- I'm pregnant! I'm not that far along-just found out. We are estimating a due date in early August.
