It is Beginning...

Well our weekly activites are starting up again.  And we also started the week with a big change.  Andrew hired a new secretary at his office.  Her husband is a new medical student here and so far things are going well.  She had no legal office experience, so it is taking some time for her to learn everything and a little more work on Andrew's part, but I think it will turn out well.

Lincoln doesn't have school on Mondays and Fridays and he spent a good amount of time outside digging.  He likes to dig over in the dirt piles of the construction areas.  But I needed him to stay close to the house, so he decided to dig up my mulch.

This week at Lincoln's school they are learning about creation and themselves.  I asked Lincoln who created the world and he responded, "Lincoln!"  So I said, "Did God creat the world?" and he said, "No, Lincoln did."  But I asked him again a few days later and he got it right :-). I also have to show one of Lincoln's first art projects he brought home.  Don't you like his smile? :-)

While Lincoln was busy at school and digging I have been getting a lot done around the house.  Andrew and I also installed a special door closer on the door to the basement that will automatically close the door when it is open.  It has give me a better peace of mind with Miles and Bennett crawling around everywhere.  And they really are getting everywhere.  The other night while we were eating dinner, they both ended up under the table and then quickly made their way to the dishwasher as we were cleaning up.
One day I was working on the computer and look down to find them.  They really like my toenails.
On Tuesday I got to enjoy another house cleaning.  Our small group got it for us as a thank you back in May when we wrapped up for the summer.  I have been saving it for the right time and it worked out great.  On Wednesday we kicked off our small group with a barbecue at our house.  It was great because everyone was able to come.  We had around 20 adults and 20 kid which can get kind of chaotic but ended up going pretty smoothly.  It was nice to see everyone again and then they were very nice to help us clean stuff up.  It still took some time to finish up after everyone left (and kill the 30 flies that made their way in as people were bringing stuff in to clean up) but it was still so nice to have so much of it done.

I also sold some of our baby stuff to a family in our group who are unexpectedly expecting their fourth.  Amanda was nice enough to let us borrow her matching car seats for the twins, so our infant seat wasn't being used.  It is our plan that we are done (Jackson keeps reminding us that God makes the plans) so we sold them our infant car seat, bases, and stroller that goes with it along with our Sit-n-Stand stroller.  I actually got a little sad since some of the stuff were some of our first we received as gifts when we were pregnant with Jackson.

Our week continued with some football.  Jackson and Andrew had practice Thursday night and the first game Friday night.  The boys were supposed to wear their shirts to school on Friday just like the older kids wear their jerseys.

They started a new program this year that is not associated with the YMCA.  The 1st and 2nd graders play together and the 3rd and 4th play together.  They don't have set teams so the kids just rotate around and switch up positions.  We have yet to see if it really works but I think they had fun at their first game.  They get to play on the new high school field which is neat.  They divide it up into four fields and have four games going on at one time.  I had the other four kids to myself, so I didn't get to see too much of the game.  I did see Jackson run in two touchdowns though.

May Jackson and Sammy didn't realize that it wasn't tackle football (this was during warmups)

We actually got to stick around town this weekend which was nice.  Andrew and the older kids headed out to the ranch this morning while the twins and I hung out around home.  And we don't have big plans for tomorrow so it will be nice to relax a bit as we get ready for another busy week.

I just received these pictures from Andrew's mom.  Someone she knew emailed them to her and I am thankful she did.
