Early Family Vacation 2007

Instead of going to Seaside this year, we spent a few days of vacation in Kirksville hanging out by the pool and the weekend in St. Louis. Everyone was in town for the Fourth of July and my parents had their annual party. It was a nice evening of "fun, food, and fireworks." Jackson wasn't too crazy about the fireworks and he fell asleep that night laying on Lissy with his hands over his ears. It was fun having the whole family in town and getting to spend some relaxing time with them by the pool.

During the weekend we went to St. Louis. We went to a Cardinal's game Friday night. It was Ellie's first and she enjoyed it until about the 5th inning and then she was ready for bed. We ended up staying until the end but we just walked around to keep her happy. We saw several people we knew including the Thomas' who used to live in Kirksville, Matt and Hang Gray (one of Andrew's fraternity brothers and Amanda and Todd's current neighbors), and then we saw our cousins Jimmy and Jane and their kids. The next night we got to see The Lion King Musical. It was so neat. It was just so creative the way they portrayed the characters. Jackson even sat through the whole thing. The hyenas scared him a bit, but he loved Timon and Puumba. So we ended up having a wonderful vacation, but will be excited to get back to the beach soon.
